I was under the impression that Roth's suit regarding the royalties he received from the six-pack sales was bounced out of court. Mainly, and I'm no lawyer, because he had renegotiated his deal when he split from Van Halen in 1985. At that point, the royalties were roughly equal. But, the band known (erroneously) as Van Halen renegotiated on the eve of the release of the remasters, and Dave was cut out of the loop. His lawsuit was borderline frivolous because he was not part of Van Halen in 1998 (or so) and therefore was unable to renegotiate with them, and was unable to force a renegotiation of his own, dated, royalties agreement.
I could be wrong, but I think that was the outcome of it all... It sort of sucks, since he did write the lyrics, but...

I've read similair accounts...and differing ones. The thing you have to remember, is that lawsuits involved with a corporate entity like the WB, net results notwithstanding, are a cloud of mystery.
Okay, I think MA's vocals were a big part of Van Halen. But are you really going to sit there and say Van Halen wasn't going to be successful WITHOUT MA's fucking background vocals?
I'm sick of that. it's ridiculous. He's a fine bass player. Some would say he's below average. And he can sing background. You know what, you could say he's the equivalent of a couple of pieces of hot snatch that VH could have hired.
enough already.
MA was a behind the scenes asskisser. Now he's just letting Sammy kick him to the front. Again, once a bitch, always a bitch.

Everyone bitches about the quality of MA Bass
Everyone bithces about Ringos drumming.
What everyone seems to pass on is MA vocalisations set a direction
on the Roth lead that really was a vocal sound for one of the greatest
bands Rock has seen.
Is it really of any interest what Mike Anthony did or didn't sign away to participate in the 2004 tour? He's pretty much admitted he did whatever Ed said in order to play with them, so why bitch about it now? Just makes him look like a whining pussy on top of being a punk.
This nonsense about crying in the press after the fact about how horrible it WAS is really of no interest. Mike and Sam kept their mouths shut to collect a paycheck. Said nothing about it at the time. Now Sam says some of the shows were subpar because Ed was all fucked up, yet he finished all the dates anyway. Now Mike bitches about the Van Halens not letting him shill his hot sauce on the radio during the tour...both of them allude to the performances not being done at 100%, for reasons of course having nothing to do with either of them...
...Neither of them had the balls to take a stand for themselves, or the people paying to see them in 2004, at the time it was happening...you know, when it might have mattered? Subsequently, neither of them has any credibility in my book, regardless of if they're telling part of the truth these days or not.
At least Roth had a sense of humor to draw upon when slinging barbs the Van Halens way. This just sounds like a couple of old, bloated millionaire rock stars who willingly participated in a sham a couple of years ago, and are now playing the blame-game in order to try and fill $9 seats and hawk booze and condiments in the process ("It wasn't our fault in 2004! It was the Van Halens...but not really Alex so much as Eddie! Come and see our Cabo Wabo show now, featuring Mike Anthony singing LEAD vocals...THIS won't be a cheesy ripoff like 2004 was! Honest!!").

RIGHT HERE, RIGHT NOW!!!
Where can we go for the press on these secretive negotiations..?
Who has the Skinny..?...WHO KNOW'S WHAT!!!!!
There have been three major suits in Roths career they should be listed and examined cause i'm nosey like that and when my
fav rok singer feels like he's getting screwed i feel like it too...
Someone start a thread with with the three siuts listed and we will....
I think Hagar is basically a totally self-serving douche. However, it's a little more difficult for me to totally dismiss Mikey's claims that he's shit on. He's the classiest and the nicest of the bunch by all accounts, and I think he's far more honest than the Red Schlocker.
I even see that they didn't exactly synchronize their stories. I like how according to Hagar: "Ed is such an asshole, even Alex couldn't stand him and hung out with us." Whereas, Mike doesn't "recall" anything to that effect. In any case, yes, they both sucked shit to get on the 2004 tour, but that doesn't mean that Ed isn't an ungrateful asshole that alienates anyone he's ever had a sustained musical connection with, save his asshole brother...
remember the sammy -n- dave show on vh1 .....looks like we might need "the sammy and dave show " part 2 the saga continues !!!!........when michael anthony starts talking shit about the brothers (i will give them thier due respect and not call them the sisters like most on here ) you no its going to get ugly michael anthony hasnt said a bad word about eddie and alex in 30 years !!!whats next valerie comes clean with some shocking news about ed !!!
How about, "I let Michael bone me nightly. His chest hair made me giggle, and the Jack bass makes me think of Dave drillin' me in the ass, and Alex, well, I didn't fuck him, but I did watch Dave fuck his wife while I was eating her out."
