Far as the reunion being stalled because Ed and Dave are both afraid to be the first one to make the call to the other, as it will be an admission that person was wrong all along, well...Dave has been calling the Van Halens to come out and play for going on ten years now (even in his most pissed off attitude immediately following the 1996 meltdown, Dave never said anything along the lines of "I'll NEVER reunite with Van Halen again, EVER").

According to Dave, his management places a call to the Van Halens management every year to see if they wanna make a go of it. Now, if what it's gonna take is Roth not bothering with the managers, driving over to 5150 and sitting down with Ed one on one...who the fuck knows?

Is Ed even in any condition to do it even if he wants to? I dunno. The guy looks pretty ill to me.
