Where is the factual basis we have for determining that it it Spam on the three new songs? Also, aside from seeing it here I have not checked the source on the track release. Is it speculation or fact that the last three will be from RHRN? and to reiterate what has been plainly stated several times in this post...why put the same songs out twice in the same production?

question: Why wouldn't WB insist on separating the discs into 2 different eras? Disc 1 all dave. Disc 2 all sammy. Then sell them separately, just to show the bros. who the REAL lead singer of that group is.

Duh...if they did that then one of them wouldnt sell! Maybe they mixed the eras intentionally so the land fills would not be overflowing with the discarded disc twos. Disc twos being propelled out car windows at high rates of speed could cause serious injury to innocent drivers?

Seriously folks, is this an intentionall mixing of the eras to try unify this into one big happy family in the minds of the fans? Could it be yet another clue that just maybe...Dave might still make an appearnace herein? I wonder how many people would shit their pants if Dave and Sammy sang together on at least one of the three new songs. That would be something you would have to HEAR to BELIEVE...

How on earth could Edward allow three live classic VH tunes sung by Hagar on this BEST OF VOLUME 2. Roth should sue these pricks for everything they own. I believe that is the final nail in the coffin. What an insult to Dave era VH. I will not waste my money on this crap. I can't believe for one minute that VH doe's not have live DLR era matierial in there archive's, to include on this cd.

Don't be upset ~ it's actually a great thing they put them on. Rememeber Roth said Sammy was his bitch? Well he's now getting paid for his versions and Sammy's versions all on one CD.

Too bad it won't sell enough to pay for Roth's next breakfast.

Nothing on that CD that I don't already have (classic Van Halen tracks), want and don't have (old Van Hagar tracks), or am particularly interested in checking if it means spending nickel one of my own money (the new Van Hagar tracks).

Wonder how many others feel the same way. Will be interesting to see how it sells, and how much airplay the new Sam Halen tracks get vs. the BOV1 new Roth tracks.

You are probably right, and most of us know that even if we do not want to admit it, but the VAN HALEN site is not confirming or denying anything. They are just posting tour dates. (They will also be on 22 greates bands on 5-23) and an e-greeting. Other than that, get bent. It was Brad from Van Halen who is saying what you think is going to happen may not be what happens or some shit like that. you can read it at your beloved Van Halen News Desk.

Now as far as the rest of the crap I have been reading on Van Halens News Desk,-well hell that settles it for all time right there. VAN HALEN said it, it must be TRUE! I should have considered the source. They would never lie or say anything misleading.. Im sorry, What could I have been thinking? Yes, BT the site does say that Hagar has reconcilliated with Van Halen, etc. the new songs will be featured on the tour with Hagar...I am just saying that it does not say they are exclusively Hagar shit. And if it did, I still would not believe it. After all, its Van Halen. no, the news desk I believe is reporting the live tracks and the 3 new songs are reported at van halens official site. so do you suppose they used the 3 songs that dave and ed worked on in 2000?

How do you release Best of Volume 1 then Very Best with the same tracks and more? What happened to Volume 2?

The only reason I bought Volume 1 was for the new Dave stuff. I have no interest in this album. I said then and I still say they should have released a Best of 1978-1984, with a couple new tracks and/or previously unreleased tracks (like Angel Eyes) and/or a couple of live tracks, like Sarge said, of different tracks (like So This is Love or On Fire or something).

And if they wanted to issue a Best of 1986 - ? that would be fine too.

That would give fans what they want, but these guys have no interest in what their fans want - we know that already.

What they should do next is issue a complete Box Set 1978-1984 with a bonus disc of live and previously unreleased tracks.

Of course, that's just my opinion...
