Who deserves to be inducted into the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame as "Van Halen"??

if the so called hall of fame has any credo at all it will just be the originals.
Johnny Van Zant wasn't inducted with Skynyrd- only the ground breaking contributing members were (including Arimus Pyle and Bob Burns) and rightly so. Van Halen made their mark on rock history with the "six pack". I believe the hall makes the call on what members are inducted with no input whatsoever from the band. when it is time for Kiss it will be the original four- who were together (recording) 5 years initially. I've got to believe it will be the originals. Although their is the AC/DC situation, but it is not the same, as Back in Black was a juggernaut and Scott is dead so Johnson deserves it. Not apples to apples. Viva Van Halen!

The final vote hasn't been taken yet, but they are on the ballot. And there's no way in Hell they could be passed over, since the only other band in the running in terms of status and influence is REM. They'll both get in easily.

I just watched a thing on VH1 Classic between Eddie Trunk and some chick about who should be in the RNRHoF....The chick said her pick was Rush...no argument here, and Trunk's pick was Van Halen. They both agreed, and said that Hagar probably wouldn't be included because of the 25 year/first album thing...and he wasn't part of that. If that is indeed the case, then I will stand corrected. Not disappointed, but corrected. :D
Trunk said the HoF was bullshit, and it makes him want to vomit that bands like VH, Deep Purple, and Alice Cooper are not already in there.
I don't know why Alice Cooper isn't in there, but with Deep Purple I think it's the same thing that kept Sabbath and Van Halen out for so long. All the revolving door soap opera crap that turned the band into a joke. And Purple has actually done that worse than anybody.
Maybe Blackmore will get sick of the Renaissance Fair music and decide he wants to rock one last time with the proper Deep Purple lineup? If that's the case, they'll get in after that.

The fucked up thing about Deep Purple is that their second incarnation is the one the everyone knows, and of course it is the best. Thank God it isn't that way for Van Halen. :D

Exactly the case.
Which is why I never understood why Hagar was always considered a 'shoo-in' for the Hall.
The Hall makes their selection based on an artist's significance and contribution to rock n roll, on the basis of being influential and so on.
Its not about album sales, etc.
Eddie's ground-breaking guitar work on the six pack is reason alone for just CVH to be inducted. Not to mention, CVH basically 're-inventing' arena rock, then there's Dave's larger-than-life persona, etc.
Van HAGAR??
The difference is that Van HALEN is timeless. Van HAGAR was a product of its time.
