The new tracks features are confirmed: It's About Time (4:15), Learning To See (5:14) and Up For Breakfast (4:57). The tracks are described as classic Van Halen, with a progressive twist.
Classic Van Halen!-Do they feature Dave?
Warner's press release states the following:
* Also includes 3 brand new tracks with Sammy Hagar, produced by Glen Ballard & Eddie Van Halen.
Does it really say Spam?
But they just said CLASSIC Van Halen? Is there nothing to keep the dream alive?
* AS SEEN ON TV! Supported by a massive $1.8 million (media value) direct response television advertising campaign to kick off on June 4th.
Better late than never-but pointless nonetheless. Unless of course, they will be announcing Dave's return. (At that late date, he might feel comfortable that the whole deal is not going to fall through.)
* There remains some fear within the Van Halen camp about the re-union lasting. There are no firm plans past the release of the Best Of and set live dates, pending an evaluation on how things went.
some fear? or some hope? perhaps that little bit or reality seeping through. So much depends on your outlook doesn't it.
* It's About Time was set for an earlier release, but was re-mixed for a more commercial (radio friendly) vibe.
But what does this mean? Was it an original Dave song tempered to fit Spam. Did we miss out on our one chance for some real roth and roll?
That's about it folks - not too much to add. It's now wait and see time! It's 5150 time!
