Yeah, Mike fucked up by wanting to go out and play instead of being a recluse tossing mysterious bones to the fans about his future actions. Mike thought VH was dead after the '04 tour, much like a lot of people who went to the shows. He should have done porno tracks instead of going out and having a good time with his fans.

You could also lay the same blame at Roth leaving in '85 for thinking VH wasn't a functional band too.

First of all, it won't be official to me until i read the first review of the first show and hear some boots from it.

Secondly, Mike had better wipe the cheesy poofs from his ass and suit the fuck up.

This thing is being billed as a VH reunion, which without the vocals and god awful Bass solo of Michael Anthony...It won't be.
It'll be damned expensive and I question if it will be worth the price.

Right Now, I'm on the fence pondering this whole deal and waiting to see how the RRHOF deal pans out in real time.

Going out and playing while your band is on a hiatis is one thing, but to come out in interviews and shit, and slam ED, with spammy sitting right there is another. Then they go and start this other shit band.

It's all about dollars and the coin, with a band like VH, thats been around for so long, and if you think any differant, you are fooling yourself. Look, i want to see the origional as bad as everyone else, but it will be what it will be, you either fork up the dough and go, or you don't.

I agree that Mike is 1/4 of Van Halen...no argument there. However, consider this...Edward has wanted MA out of the band for YEARS. It is no secret that he wanted Billy Sheehan to replace MA around the Women and Children First era. It is also no secret that EVH totally trashed Mike in an interview he did when Diver Down was first released. Ed talked about how Mike contributed nothing, but bought a Porche and remodelled his house on the money he made off of them. He said his bass tone was ass too. This has been brewing a long time in all honesty, it just finally happened.

I don't know at this point if I'll go see this tour, but there is something interesting about seeing Ed and Dave onstage again. I've got a 15 year old son who is dying to go see this...I hate for him not to experience at least a portion of what once was.

Musicians, do play out, i agree as well, but in this situation, he was playing with spamo, and someone who Ed just hates. And to bust up the theory even more, MA starts the band the other half, billing themselves as the other half of VH. That was a big no-no.

MA should have just stayed busy, with some local band and shit, rode the wave out. Stayed friends and kept contact up with Ed and AL, you know the stuff that friends do. MA blew his wad on spammy and now, he just got kicked off the money train. It's all showbiz.

I've long accepted the fact that Ed and Al will never give the fans what they truly want. Van Halen has simply become a vehicle for Ed to promote his own musical and personal agendas.

My take on this is quite simple : I last saw Van Halen on April 19, 1984 at the Montreal Forum. After almost 23 years, to witness a true classic VH reunion (Dave, Ed, Mike and AL) live in front of my steaming eyes, I would have gladly forked over $$ for tickets within the first 5 rows. Money would not have been an obstacle. However.....

Since Ed is one again bastardizing the VH name in order to push his own personal agenda (this time it's to promote EVH gear and promote his son); Without Michael Anthony's harmonies backing up Dave; it's not Classic VH....

If it's NOT Classic VH, I will NOT pay a penny to see VH ever again unless they can do something in the now and present that motivates me to do so. (I.E. - a new album; a display of sobriety - both very improbable at this point) Unless this newest incarnation of Van Halen releases a brand new full length album with DLR; they can all go fuck themselves.

The bullshit soap opera that this band has become known for has soured too many of the hardcore fans. After 20 of bitching, and 8 years since EVH has recorded a full length album; many people just don't give a fuck anymore.
