and if this tour goes well, mike and sammy will jopin the party for a stadium farewell tour next year.Originally posted by jasonmint
The 2 ampitheater venues I am familiar with, First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre (Chicago) and Verizon Wireless(Indy) hold 30,000 and 24,000 respectively. These are both Live Nation amps. If all 40 they play are similiar to these, and they sell them out(wishful thinking perhaps?), it will make a shit load of money and I would imagine stadiums will be next(if they hold it together), although in my experience, stadium gigs are a big rip off but I always have nosebleed seats.

Very valid point.Originally posted by TheArchitect
Very wishful thinking. No new material and the lameass PR machine they use will hurt them. Those crowds in the 80's have mortages, tuition payments and responsibilities like finding babysitters getting in the way. Not to mention a lot of people are just over VH now and won't even consider a nostolgia trip for $100+ a head.
I think in most markets they would do well to sell out 8000-10000 seat venue
This may be the reason for the deliberate "leaks". I'm sure promoters are on edge and maybe they can survey fans reactions to the leaks from the internet websites and get a ball park figure of the percentage of fans who will come out to see this tour and from this, the promoters can determine how large or small the capacity of the venues should be to be sell out so they don't loose their ass ?

I hope that Van HALEN plays Madison Square Garden, and I will be there. They could easily sell out a few nights at MSG, in NYC.
As for the rest of bumbfuck America? Who knows.
I am sure I will catch them at the PNC, right here in NJ!! A philly date I most likely will attend as well.
In case you didn't know, this area, NJ/NYC/Philly is Dave country!!!Comment

They should be able to sell out every show. And for what we know, Wolf might be really good on bass and improve the songs. Dave wouldn't sign on unless he was capable on bass.
I saw Dave live in '04, and he was in fine form! The song selection alone was worth every penny. That show did not disappoint!Comment

I disagree. Wolfie might be just fine on bass, but Dave wouldnt refuse a reunion on that issue alone.Originally posted by Marcus

If Wolfie chokes, Dave will just shrug his shoulders and Eddie will have to answer for it.
And someone else, maybe MA, maybe not, would have to finish the tour.
One thing you gotta hand to Dave for sure.....I think the last 10 years, including failed attempts at a reunion, has him thinking he can deal with whatever Eddie and Alex throw at him -- which is probably why this is taking so long, making sure they dont screw him with terms and rules he is not going to put up with.Comment

That gig on the cover wasnt just their gig, it was a festival, I think Day on the Green. They were not the headliners.Originally posted by RuzDNailz
Come on, take it one step at a time. There will be stadium shows sometime in the near future and we will relive those days like the back of Diver Down album cover.Comment

If this reunion fails, Van Halen will be cheaper to hire than a mariachi band.Originally posted by BrownSound1
Fuck some stadiums...I hate stadium shows. I still bet they play some arenas, especially if this thing picks up a head of steam. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment
