I'm beginning to wonder if the reason there's no new music is b/c they're concentrating on getting Teen Wolf polished on the classics for the tour first before they throw anything else at him.

If he's as shit hot as EV claims, it should take him a week at most. Plenty of bands on tour have musicians fill-in when another becomes ill or whatever. They usually get a week or less to get it together. A true prodigy should be able to do it in a day. Case in point: Blue Oyster Cults’ drummer failed to come to a show. The lead drum roadie filled in that show, having never played with them before, and got the gig permanently.
