Mike's sauce is a total non-entity in the hot sauce industry, but not Perry's.... Joe's is acclaimed far and wide as top-shelf fantastic by hot sauce aficionados. Frankly, it kicks the ever lovin' shit out of Mike's generic red. Hell, many store brands do if you know anything about the trade.

Unfortunately, Mike's stature within VH sort of grew during the Van Hagar years.

'Cause if he was axed, oh, say in 1982 -- nobody would fucking care because Dave and Eddie were so popular.

My buddies and I always used to laugh at Mike on those CVH videos, you know, where he's pounding the bass with his fist, because that's all he could really do with the instrument. :D

I listen now to the remastered CVH CDs and could hear the potential of having a better bass player on those songs.

Wasn't talking about mistakes but the potential of some better bass playing --- between some of Ed's riffs or slow parts -- there was a lot of potential for better bass playing.
