spED makes the tour promoters so nervous, that after officially announcing a summer tour, they pull the plug and leave everyone hanging....

spED tells the webbie to leave the same lame front page up on the site....

spED gives Dave the impression that he and AL may not even go to the induction ceremony....

spED has Rhino put out another compilation, asking fans to buy the SAME songs for the fourth time.....and even THAT is postponed...


Is THIS a version of Van Halen WORTHY of Dave's involvement??????????????????????

In my humble opinion, it is NOT.

I wish Dave had nothing to do with this spEDCO FIASCO.

Which takes me to one of the first points I ever made regarding this "reunion."

It's not as simple as plugging in Diamond Dave and up comes the sun...

Hell of a thread, Lounge. Hard to find any flaws in anything you've said, and the quotes you're posting from others give it legs to stand on.

Ed has single-handedly taken what was a brief moment of euphoria and turned it into an over-complicated, confusing mess that is not any fun at all.

And to me, CVH was always about FUN! (And the music, of course.)

Such is the M.O. of the addict. They suck all the life out of everything.

I have a sister like that. She's clean now (or so we hope), but when she was on the shit she could single-handedly destroy any special event or fun the rest of the family had.

I will continue to support Dave's interests and endeavors, and if it means one with ED, AL & WOLFIE - I will support it and sit back and wait.

When Roth said a "reunion" was inevitable, critics laughed like Roth was out of his mind. Whether they end up doing the Tour or not, I commend the efforts and believe there is true love and friendship between these two guys from Pasadena. If this can create any closure for Roth by just being there for spED, then I'm happy for him.

Sappy? Just trying to look at the glass 1/2 full in this situation as has currently been presented to us, leaving us to somewhat guess what the true situation is.

Nevertheless, with all the Reunion Concerts coming out this summer with the Police, Eagles and Genesis, I have to say NONE of them have any amount of impact or excitement for me....now if Van Halen actually hits it.....??? It will blow my mind.

I agree. This SHOULD have been the one reunion to defy all expectations and produce something fantastically unique. But Eddie's in charge, and that's clearly a mistake. I find I'm wanting to see this thing for all the wrong reasons, now. I'm wanting to see it because this will probably be the last chance to see Roth and Ed playing together onstage again, and I want to rubberneck at the accident. I thought Pojo was being a little harsh at times about all of this, but his points are starting to resound a little louder...
