-- Roth is back in 2007, but there's Ed's rehab

Funny how despite all these "health problems," Ed was able to put out a record and tour with Gary Cherone in 1998, and tour with Hagar in 2004.

The next thing that could happen is that Ed's liver will bleed.

Stevie Ray Vaughn said he passed out right on the street from liver hemorrhaging.

I would think that VR would be willing to do something other than YRGM or Jump...wtf

Dave's inabilty to comprimise even slightly here is whats screwing us (those of us who want to see him there, performing) this time...or so it seems by this article, AND IF ITS TRUE...

...I think Dave could have done a better job at making the best of a bad situation here instead of insisting on fuckin Jump...I hate THAT song and shudder to think of VR playing it

You all know I love Dave to death...but if this is true, I'm a little ticked at him too...
"Unchained" would be a nice choice within Dave's current register that Velvet Revolver wouldn't refuse to do.

They probably think "Jump" is cheesy, but then again, what are big songs of THEIRS that almost 99% of the Western World recognizes?

I couldn't tell you what the title of one fucking song of theirs is.

What I have heard, I thought were Stone Temple Pilots "B" sides I'm not familiar with.

I think Dave and Scott Weiland could have shared vocals on "Ain't Talkin' Bout Love."

Like DLR'sCock says, it's still not too late!

        fuck him...

He's fucked this band in more ways than any of us can count...

and now he's fucking us out of the hall of fame...

which most of us have been looking for for years...

and we are supposed to be thinking it's GOOD he's not performing...

        Wow...
Agreed on most points, but it has less to do with any particular sympathy for Ed than just the notion that the RnRHoF was a chance for the CVH lineup to get back together and PERFORM, as opposed to seeing Dave front Velvet Revolver...which is apparently the only option left.

And the difference between that and Roth having been on the road performing CVH tunes for the last several years without Van Halen behind him is that the RnRHoF WAS something a lot of us had been looking forward to BECAUSE it appeared to be the one event that everyone in the band could have put aside their differences for...and to see Dave doing a tune at THAT ceremony WITHOUT the rest of Van Halen with him (to me, anyway) rings somewhat hollow.

Yes, but the hall "claims" that Dave could have performed with the House band, or a combination of his band and the Hous band to make up a band that back him doing whatever song he wanted.

            WTF??

Someone is not telling the truth or there is a miscommunication.

I read somewhere that VR was practicing Aint Talkin Bout Love. I agree though, that if it aint CVH, who cares if Dave performs or not. Especially if all we were going to get was Jump.

The last thing I would have wanted to see is JUMP, yet again...

                    "Trademark song"

You Really Got Me is not a bad idea...

I'll bet Dave was worried about not being able to sing it respectably, as he always sounded shakey on that song...

But come to think about it, Dave sounds pretty shakey on pretty much anything these days...

In my honest humble opinion, and in preparation for this being a "stadium act", I think Dave would benefit from a vocal coach and to stop smoking...

Maybe Wolfie could whip out the ipod and point out to Dave the parts of the songs that Dave stopped paying attention to decades ago...

The Classic six-pack as you folks like to call it has a lot of karaoke tunes!!

VH loves to cover other artists great tunes.

The six pack is Hagar's worst nightmare.
And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, “What ails you, Hagar? Genesis 21:17

Yes. Sammy tries to put his own spin on those songs and it just doesn't work.
