It should be fairly apparent to all of us that Van Halen died tonight. Probably a good thing after that whole debacle.

      Critically wounded, perhaps.

      Dead? Not yet.

It all depends on how long Ed is out of commission, and what Dave & Alex do about it in the meantime.

I don't think Spam was taking a shot at Dave to be honest....

But what a waste of time that awards ceremony was...

          Fuck Sammy...

A few days back he was telling the Press that Dave was so
desperate to be there, he had already booked a room...

Dave should've been there. Alex should've been there.

I DVR'ed it so I could skip all the crap I didn't wanna see. And at first I thought I'd just forward through everything. But seeing Ronnie Spector and the Ronette's I stopped. Getting into the Hall of Fame is validation. Validation that you have done great things for music AND the industry. Validation that you do have talent and have had a successful career in music. For every dreamer on this board that owns an instrument, whether you've done anything with it or not, that's the ultimate respect. Being honored beside the likes of Chuck Berry, and Ray Charles.

Velvet Revolver didn't do "You Really got me". The Kinks song that the media was saying was the reason Roth didn't show. And they crucified the song they did do. I stopped it less before the chorus even started. And foward it to Sammy and Mike, which sucked EVEN worse, but I did get to the chorus before forwarding through.

When they showed the next clip of a passed performance, it just put the nail in the coffin as to how bad the Van Halen induction had been.

            Lounge is right. It's over.
Dave, and Alex should've been there and acted like adults leaving all of us with a nagging desire for this band to get it's shit together and make music again. Validate us mother fuckers!

But no, pride wins again and succintly, Van Halen has cut off it's nose to spite it's face.

the guys with class showed up, the other 3 should have been there without question, nothing but a bitch whine-fest by the sisters and dave; they should be embarrassed and slither into the night for good. it would even be more pathetic if they got back together to fuck everyone over for $$$$$$$$. been a huge vh fan in the past but at this point it is just OVER......and to still hope for a reunion is just as pathetic - FUCK THOSE 3. sam and mike continue to be human about it all and continue to move on; they never lost focus that it is about the fans.

I do not think he was slamming Dave but I will say this, Van Halen will never be what it was or even close. Actually at this point, I don't care anymore. As a long time fan of the band, I could not have been more disappointed in last nights representation of the band. I caught it on my way to bed and just watched the Van Halen portion as I TiVo'd it upstairs. What a waste of my time.

At this point, if Dave comes to town, I will go see him. But that is about it. Alex and Dave should have been there. Eddie is the only one who had a valid excuse not to attend.

i'm really on the fence to whether eddie is actually in rehab or not. i think it was just a gutless move so he did not have to face the others.

Total bullshit. Michael Anthony is as real a member of the band that got chosen as anyone. Roth and the brothers pussed out and let their prima donna bullshit get in the way of doing the right thing yet again. Anthony and Hagar had the balls to show up and face the press. No one else did.

why the asshole attachment to mike? he seemed like he always took the high road; never trash talked anyone, and he got along with anyone. hell, even after getting kicked out of the band and bad-mouthed by the sisters he still gave love to ed last night in getting better.

                          Yep.

I ain't a Spam fan, but at least he turned up for his fans: I may not like him or his music, but at least he had the deceny to show.

Dave, all you had to do was walk on stage and collect an award.

What's more is that being memorialised at the Hall of Fame is also a rising testament that you were able to fight the industry monster and still come out on top.

Anyone who's in the business will tell you that's a feat in itself. It wasn't about the suits at the tables. It was about the band and all it's accomplished.

They had a real responsibility to prove that they'd earned what they were receiving and they fucking blew it off.

They're not even proud of themselves!!!

Are you fucking brain damaged or something? They didn't say a damn thing to insult anyone. But that doesn't matter when you can just fabricate shit to save face when Roth fell vicitm to his own prima donna bullshit yet again.

Dude, you're searching for something negative to say about Hagar. The guy complimented Dave on stage and even said he was surprised they even included him in the inductions since he wasn't even the first singer in the band. He also said afterwards they should tour with Roth for the fans. Let it go. Dave should have been there. I was pissed as a die-hard DLR fan that he wasn't there....pissed. I'm not the only one who feels that way.
