    Jazz won't do it.
Bingo. He needs to make a rock record, pure and simple. DLR band 2 with decent production to do the songs justice.

And who's gonna buy it, me, you, and a handful of other people ??

Dave has already tried a solo career from multiple angles...

The only way people want to hear David Lee Roth is fronting Van Halen...

Of course we'd all like to see VH as a full time thing; a tour, and then another record.

I was thinking purely in terms of if this reunion doesn't work out, Dave should make a rock record.

You're right though, it'd never be a big hit: although with decent management and record company support it would do ok business I guess.

I don't think it would, and where's he going to get this management and record company ??

Steve Vai is free. I'd love to see him alongside Dave, though I know it's unlikely to happen.

There are plenty of record labels dealing with old rock bands, jeezus half of the 80s Sunset Strip bands are still going on those labels....

But as far as the big league labels go, we know Dave would never get taken up by them....

I only hope I don't get killed revealing myself here.

I wish Eddie Van Halen had a side project, it might have saved all this VH bullshit
Actually everytime I post my VH myspace here, people go.

200 gigs a year, who here at the army is doing 200 gigs a year?

Hear that? It's the sound of tumbleweeds rolling on by.

I listened and liked, unique and a little left of centre, not just your run of the mill countryfied fare.

                      Yes Elvis,
Most of my songs are about alcohol, so are most of my days, but hey it takes all kinds.

It would be nice to see Dave front another band, that might work, use Metallica, or Black Sabbath, or a cool swing band like Hot Club Of Cowtown
(I'm sure you'd hate that Elvis)
But he doesn't have to re invent the wheel.
Just find a good band to front'
The greatest front man could front any band, being a bandleader is a whole other thing, and i don't think that is his focus.

Fuck all that shit.....I got the perfect front man for VH.......Axl Rose. Can you imagine that shit? The sisters and Axl would catfight every night onstage. I think people would pay to see that.

If Dave were to do a new album he really needs to partner up with proven amazing musicians and form a new VH style band...

I know DLR's ego get's in the way of equal partnerships, but If he could get a guy like Nuno Bettencourt or a Blues Saraceno to write a disc with , get a good producer like a Bob Rock or Templeman, and really push it I would be interested...

it seems like Dave kind of half asses his musical ventures these days...
