TBH no great band is ever formed or at it's peak sober. I mean even Bruce Dickinson MAY have been on something during the 80s. However, the real question is would Ed leaving/ completing rehab it make a difference? And a good one? *^_^* \m/

Yeah, fuck rehab! Eddie needs to get out and play!

Rock and roll is NOT a clean and sober sport, kids. Jimmy Page was on smack during the entire '77 tour. He didn't go to rehab.

        Two words: Keith Richards.

I've been involved in music for 20+ years and the whole point is to do you what the fuck you want when the fuck you want and fuck whoever doesn't like it. THAT my friends, is rock and roll.

Everybody's saying Eddie needs rehab or he's gonna die. Boo fuckin' hoo!

Tell that to Keith Moon, John Bonham, Bon Scott, Hendrix etc. They went out with a fuckin bang!

You wanna be safe and secure and healthy? Join corporate fuckin' America and the Bush youth.

I'll take my rock and roll with a bottle of jack, thumb-packed bowl, and rails the size of fuckin steak fries.

That type of rock & roll attitude is great when your young a full of piss and vinagar. When you start to have kids and would like to see them grow up, not so good. All those guys that od, died at a young age, probably wasn't married as well. Page and Richards was also very young , like Ed, when they were into their heaving drug and boozing days. I don't think they are drinking or doing drugs like that anymore, where Ed is still drinking heavy, thats the main differance i see.

If Ed would have died in his early 30's from alcohol, he just would have been another famous rocker who lived to much of the lifstyle. Now he is in his fifties, who really wants to see Ed go down that pass. All those people that died had so much more to give to the music world. Ed needs to dry up and come out blazing.

Yeah, its all fine and dandy when you're in your 20s and 30s --- when you get older, it catches up to you and gets easily noticed.

So does that mean Dave won't be chugging a JD bottle on stage with VH anymore?

            I'd say he brings Gatorade!

Take it from a professional boozehound - keep your rocket fuel under 36 proof, pop a handful of Advil before the initial buzz hits, and you'll actually hear the alarm clock in the morning.

                    I dunno...

If Ed's been using alcohol and/or drugs to the point where he felt he couldn't be at his best or give 100% (which I'm assuming refers to his playing abilities), then I'd rather he get cleaned up, if that's what it takes.

Hey, if someone feels they need the structure of rehab to provide a running start at getting their life in order, then that's a) fine by me, and b) not my business to say otherwise.

The timing of the announcement, combined with Ed's passing relationship with the truth at times, makes me suspicious, but what was gonna end up happening in 2007 just prior to the announcement anyway (no Mike Anthony, no new music, Ed's kid on bass) wasn't anything great that was being indefinitely postponed to boot, so he might AS WELL have went to rehab.

Seeing him fumbling around at the NAMM show didn't give me a positive vibe.

At the very least, it gives everyone ANOTHER chance to get their individual shit in order and possibly rethink the way they were going about the reunion...some breathing room is in order, IMO. Because seeing them rushing into this reunion without so much as even a fucking CVH box set released beforehand...had made up my mind to try and get tix for it, but the whole thing felt screwy from the get-go; from Dave being silent about the whole thing to Wolfgang joining the band and no new material forthcoming and so on down the line.

At the very fucking LEAST the boys could dust off those unreleased Simmons demos, remix 'em and release THAT stuff as an album of 'new' material before commencing with the roadwork.

                    Something.

                    ANYthing.

C'mon, noboby wants to see a CVH reunion with Ed in a casket. Let him finish or he'll be partying with Anna Nicole.

Eds already proved himself. We still have the classic six, he will NEVER beat it.....let him take time out to get his shit together for his kids future. He dont owe any of us fuck all...... Dont knock a guy for ADMITTING PUBLICLY he has a problem , and looking for help. Thats beyond lame.He did more in his first 24 years than Rustoffa will do in his entire life. Rustoffa puts "cunt" in his words. Thats pretty talented. Do you become a mod by way of cereal box certificate?

You HAD that lineup a mere 2.5 years ago. And it sucked BALLS! Who wants to see Bette Midlers fat gut and man-tits jiggle about while doing jumping jacks in a yellow clown suit again? You, apparently! Make sure you bring stuff to sign!

And Mama Cass choked on a ham sammich. She didn't need rehab, she needed Weight Watchers. :D If there's one thing in favor of Ed being a functional lush capable of staying a step ahead of the Grim Reaper, I got two words for ya: Keith Richards. :D
