I know for a fact, from a first hand source at that gig last night, that Eddie can't play. Obviously, the word has been getting out, because sales & sales prices of VH Tour tickets on the secondary resale market have gone straight into the lue the last two weeks. A boatload of ticket scalpers are just praying that this Tour will get canceled and they can get face value refunds on their inventory.

That's why we are all shocked! The tune is horrible and nothing creative or groundbreaking about it. No clever or memorable licks or guitar riffs. He has had "ten albums worth of new material" for years and this is the zenith of his creativity and brilliance?

That's what makes it so sad cos he isn't "EVH" anymore. He's a weird freak. I don't know what he's on but it's bizarre to say the least. I'm not saying he cannot play anymore but what was that shit marking the chords on the neck? He didn't mumble that it was a joke. I wouldn't read too much into the markings on Ed's neck....and I'm sure he can still play everything he always has. The smoking and drinking does not bother me with Ed...sure, it makes sense to stop, but it doesn't make it easy. The slurred speech could be from drinking, or it could be because he has like half a tongue. I don't know, to be honest. I guess I just had rather rag on Ed for stupid decisions he's made, rather than get on him for stuff some of you do.

WTF.......Brownsound1, I have great respect for you as a webmaster for this fantastic site, but your comments on this subject show a great lack of understanding of the facts here.

I have been in the music biz 35 years, in '69 stood only 10ft away & watched Jimi Hendrix play a concert; saw Van Halen play in '77 in a small venue, (that paid VH $500 full turnkey for the gig), before VH became one of the greatest rock bands in history; and trust me I understand rock music & musicians.

Eddie Van Halen's career is finished and without a major change in this legend’s current "flight pattern", the only big crowd Eddie is going to draw is at his fast approaching funeral.
