Maybe I should not go on principle, I know I have thought about it.

The other half is simply fuel to the fire and the excuse Ed and Al needed to bash Mike in public.

The real reason for Mikes push is to do with the passing of Ed and Al's mother - the lack of a phone call from Mike. He pissed the brothers off big style by not calling.
