You have to be a total idiot to think Dave is working for cheaper as a hired hand. This isn't Sammy Hagar who had no leverage (he called Al) and jumped at his first reunion opportunity (and at the expense of Mike losing his rights).

Dave didn't walk away from reunion opportunities in 96, 00 and 04 just to work for cheap in 2007.

Even Mike Anthony said in the Burrn Mag interview Dave's ego wouldn't allow him to work as a hired hand and for cheap -

"It was like Dave, I mean he couldn't even put his ego aside if he wanted to go out and make $50 million and you know you've got a pretty large ego when you're going to give that all up even just because you don't get your way on something. I couldn't understand it." - Mike Anthony

Maybe if Mike Anthony had more of an ego, he'd be doing a little better these days....

And for the guy who thinks Dave can't use the VH logo or isn't in the band, just click on Dave's website.

And for the idiot who needs two future albums to determine if Dave gets credit, it's going to take me only one album to see his name on the songwriting credits.

i read somewhere where dave said he was pwed money or something to that effect and said he would take 25 percent only.

To me it is pretty clear that the reason this reunion took so long to occur is because Dave refused to be taken advantage of financially. I seriously doubt that Dave is not an equal partner and if he is not an equal partner I am sure he is getting paid about what he would make as an equal partner. I think it is clear that Ed and Al hate Sammy just as much as they hate Dave. Sammy got the first reunion because he was willing to take a bad deal.

What I meant by that was in reference to them being a "Band" and Roth not being a hired hand.
Tha way the Music biz is lately, people are making deals with the devil just to get one last payday. it has been predicted that CD's will literally be give away/advertising and the bands will make their money off of live performances and merchandise. ( we have internet theft of music to thank for that one)

Dave is not an equal partner as he does not have an ownership stake in the Van Halen Corporation. He is compensated as an equal partner but does not have the final say in the direction of the business. His opinion counts, but he does not call the shots like back in the day.

Dave and the brothers may be all warm and fuzzy, but that does not mean Ed and Alex decided to sign over a chunk of their livelihood.

Mezro...looks like it has all worked out (so far)...Dave gets the cash and the flash while Ed and Alex still hold the cards...the brothers should be pleased...
