Otherwise the Music Biz would be full of nothing but people suing each other:

"HEY FUCKER! YOU STOLE MY SNARE HIT!"

"ASSHOLE! YOU RIPPED OFF MY 'A' CHORD AND USED IT ANOTHER SONG! I COPYRIGHTED THE 'A' CHORD AND YOU OWE ME MONEY MOTHERFUCKER!!!"

      "I WILL KILL YOU!!!!"

      "AAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIEEEE!!!!!"

This I do not understand. What's the difference between writing a guitar riff, chord, vocal line, vocal melody, chorus or drum parts?

SOMEBODY has to write the drum parts, no? They don't get there all by themselves.

      WTF?

Let's put it this way..... Neil Peart - as great of a drummer as he is - is only a principal songwriter in Rush, because he's also the lyricist.

So the drums parts materialize out of nothing?

Just goes to show show how valid any song writing credits really are. It's all bullshit anyway.

Let me confuse you even more. I’m recording a CD right now and the Engineer said he has some cool rock beats from Matt Sorum, so I used his beats/style on a few songs. The engineer said I could list him as our drummer if I wanted to. But the person who wrote “Ice Ice Baby” had to pay royalties to Queen. I’m sure there is a logical explanation for this, but I sure as hell don’t know.

That's funny. If there was an internet back then you can be sure that there would have been plenty of complaining about it. One thing is for sure....endless complaining won't bring Michael Anthony back.

Seeing Spammy live was bad enough. Seeing bass player support Spammy on stage in person was fucking unforgivable to me. Personally---I'm glad he's gone.

Anyway--good luck with the political forum stuff. If you change your mind about the tour and you find yourself on the west coast...I'll buy you a beer.
I've always wanted a CVH reunion. But the exclusion of MA could be a positive for those of us who want more than just a reunion tour.

MA obviously prefers to work with SH, no matter how much his lyrics suck, or what the vast majority of VH fans want. Perhaps his attitude towards DLR would have got in the way of any chance for a long lasting tour and any new music.
