In one of the threads about set lists for this tour, someone mentioned that they could imagine VH and Roth doing "Finish What Ya Started" At first this seemed really strange to me.. but the more I think about it, I think that song could sound really good with Dave singing.

I think if they did an unplugged show, this song might be an interesting and unexpected choice.. and it just might work with Dave at the mic.

Sorry in advance for those of you who are now furious at me for even suggesting this!!

Van Halen unplugged would be kind of like drinking beer without alcohol. IMHO.

"Finish What Ya Started" wouldn't be that bad unplugged with Dave at the helm, what made it bad with Van Hagar was them trying make it into a rock song, which it's not.

Another thing that pissed me off about the song is Sammy trying to imitate Dave in the music video.

I would dig it if they played CTBM, BBBISWN, and maybe a full acoustic version of take your whiskey home. But not a whole acoustic set. I did hear Dave on Stern a couple of years ago with BYoung doing some acoustic VH and it was damn good.
            Anything left in that bottle?

              Exactly!

I hate "unplugged" to start with...
Out of anybody, I don't want Ed.'s guitar to be unplugged...
I want it blasting loud and feel it vibrate in all my being!

How could we dance, jump around, scream and shout if VH is unplugged, sitting on a bench?

Ho dear... when I see Dave on stage and the music kicks in, it vibrates right where you think it does! :p

In 1984, I was on the center front so I had to stand up the whole time. Because I got a little tired and dizzy, my friend took me on his shoulders for a while... when he put me down, he kept joking and teasing me about his neck being all wet... L.O.L.

I have to say that I can't imagine it being all that great.

Would Ed's guitar style translate well to acoustic guitar?

Nope, not interested. I didn't wait all this time to hear no fuckin' acoustic music. They didn't record em' that way and I don't care to hear em' that way. At the price we paid for tickets, they need to bring it on the way I have been waiting years to hear it again. No artsy fartsy bullshit. Just some loud, in your face goodtime rock in' roll.
