    Madison Square Garden???

7Ok, I have just recieved a kick in the pants!

My Delta Skymiles are about to expire, Dec. 31 2007.

It was just what I needed an excuse to fly 2000 miles to see Van Halen in NYC!!

I sadly live in Huntsville, AL, and while they have play here in the 80's and 90's, I'm not holding out hope for 2007.

Soo, My question is when do the tickets go on sale for the Madison Square Garden show?? It says TBA, but does anyone have a geuss?

Also how many of you guys think it is crazy for a 20yr old kid to fly to NYC for 1 day! Just to see the greatest Rock Band ever back on stage.

As DG says, it's not a crazy thought at all. I live in Los Angeles and I'm thinking of getting a ticket to the Madision Sq. Garden gig....never been to the "Big Apple" and my fav band is playing in the most historical arenas in the nation.....Hell Yes! It's a great idea!!

Does anyone know if VH has played the Garden in the early 80's?

I think Van Halen Played The Garden on July 17th 1981.

Dude that is not even slightly crazy. I am 26 and live in Thailand, have for the last two years. I am planning to fly back to the US for the MSG show and finally get to see DLR with Van Halen.

Really, if it weren't for this, it could've been years before I went back to America. I just can't pass this up and if you're gonna go all out, you'd might as well go to the best venue in the country.

A perfect excuse for credit card rewards--don't hesitate and have a blast. MSG is such a great venue; VH played there I think on every tour with DLR; even on their first tour in '78 opening for Sabbath. If you can stay a few days, there's a lot to see and do in NYC--do it, man! Tix will probably be on sale within the next week or three I would guess.

Can someone please tell me what the big draw about this place is? I mean I plan on going because I heard it was world famous. I'm from Canada, Alberta to be exact. I am going to get tickets for MSG and I just want someone to shed some light on what the draw is? Also does anyone know how many people this stadium holds? If anyone has info on that it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Book well in advance and the plane tickets are dirt cheap...book at off-times as well, even on short notice if the tour comes to you in '08

the reason its so famous is because, when you play madison square garden its a milestone in your career, you have hit the bigtime.

no i've heard about it, but then i heard from a source (whos ass i'm going to kick tomorrow) that it only held 16 or 17 thousand. So just to be clear 70 thousand people can fit in this mofo? Ok, thats worth the pain. If i can't get tickets on the date of sale, I will get them through EBAY, its all good my brothers...See you there and peace out!

Well the website says it holds 20,000. But one corner of the arena is behind the stage, so Idk. Elton John and John Lennon performed before a sold out show in 74'. But I believe it has been remodeled since then. No matter what it's huge and they should be playing two nites, but Fall Out Boy plays the following nite.
