Madison Square Garden???

No, MSG holds a little less than 20,000. A very large arena, not a stadium. Like someone else mentioned above, it's as much about the prestige as it is the amount seats.
Besides, it is a great place to see a big show. By comparison, the Continental Arena across the Hudson in NJ has about the same capacity, but the building just seems a little "colder" atmospherically if that makes sense.Comment

For concerts I think the Garden holds a little over 20,000 but that includes the limited view seats. For hockey games it holds close to 17,000. The garden s a great place to see a concert. Believe it or not, for the size the sound isn't too bad. They don't have exposed rafters on the ceiling like Nassau Colisium does. Saw Seger and the Silver Bullet band there about 8 months ago or so and it was great. I plan on seeing the Garden and Nassau show since I live close to both.
You're twenty and flying from CA to NYC for a show, thats not nuts, thats great. You should see if you can grab a few more days and spend some time in the city.SUPPORT THE BIG RED MACHINE

I'm rather disappointed that a Canuck doesn't know about MSG?? Come on honey, it's one of the great arenas of all time... put your hockey helmet on and it will all come back to you!Originally posted by wiseguy
Can someone please tell me what the big draw about this place is? I mean I plan on going because I heard it was world famous. I'm from Canada, Alberta to be exact. I am going to get tickets for MSG and I just want someone to shed some light on what the draw is? Also does anyone know how many people this stadium holds? If anyone has info on that it would be much appreciated. Thanks."Ya know what they say about angels... I live in NYC. Honestly there's no real "draw" here, except maybe a belief that since they are on the country's biggest stage they might turn it up a notch for the New York crowd.Originally posted by wiseguy

The real draw is the fact that NYC is the greatest city in the world, so if you NEED to travel to see a show this might be a good one.
I'm traveling to Charlotte because it's the first show. I'm traveling to Philly cause it's close. I'm seeing them at MSG because I live here.Comment

I should be seeing them at Madison Square Garden. I saw Tenacious D there and that was an amazing show. Also seeing Rush there this month! Although, if the tickets for Nassau Colisseum go on sale first I might try for those. Does anyone know how fast the tickets are selling out or what's the best way to get them? I've only ever used ticketmaster for tickets, but I'm really really paranoid of not getting tickets to the show.Fashion is a form of ugliness so intolerable that we have to alter it every six months.

Ticketmaster. Be ready to start trying the second they go on sale. They're selling out pretty darned fast, but everyone seems to have had luck on their side so far."Ya know what they say about angels...
