    It's like...whaaaaaa?
If you read the original interview it came from, even Yngwie was saying he couldn't imagine why he would be intimidated, that the idea was preposterous....

I think Ed was just blowing him off after Yngwie asked to meet him...:p

After those 20 years spent longing for it to happen, is it just adequate for some of us to turn their noses up at this forthcoming Tour, really?...

If Eddie stays clean, I think he'll blow minds. Having his kid there will be a big help. (hopefully) Just from what little I've heard from the clips, he sounds like he's been really practicing. The CVH era guitar parts you can't hack your way through, unlike the Spammy era. And Eddie was butchering that stuff in 2004. All that said, I'm expecting Eddie to blow people's minds on this tour. Playing to sold out crowds will really light a fire under his arse as well. With Dave back, I am beyond stoked. Now if they would only play Sinners Swing!, Hear About It Later, and Top Jimmy. Seven days to Greensboro.......

            BTW

I have to say that Wolfgang really seems to be a fine bass player, and his backing vocals sounded pretty impressive. But having Dave back in the band is just simply the best. I believe Dave will bring the best out of Eddie musically.

Those that followed in his wake, from Malmsteen to Vai, haven't had a fraction of the impact, that he did.
Arguably, Randy Rhoads was next in line, though he never got the chance to realize his full potential.

Having said this, and in light of the recent clips we've all had the pleasure of enjoying, do you believe Edward will match the brilliance he displayed during the late 70's & early 80's, or will he infuse the classic material with his more current approach?

Does Ed want to be the same player he was in 1978, if even for just this tour?
Or wil Ed's creative & restless nature force him to alter the old material in subtle & not so subtle ways onstage?
              No. No. No and no.

              The answer is no.

"Cardboard Wolfie" I'm sure will get his stage legs at some point or other during the tour, give the kid a break, just imagine if you were 16 and asked to play (fill in) for "the bassplayer", for one of the biggest bands in history, ...it would be a bit of a daunting task......but considering the genes he comes from...I'm sure he'll do O.K.

Practice and polish........by the time they get here to Vancouver, all the kinks should be worked out, and it'll be a show to remember!!
                    I'm hoping anyway.

This is why the retarded Yngwie post bothered me so much.
Ed was the total package as a player, Malmsteen had chops.
                            There it is!

old school VH had the greatest fucking guitar tone on the planet, the mind boggling left hand strength, the phrasing, the attitude, the albums, the stage show, etc.
                            Yngwie could sweep pick arpeggios.

Guys like Ed & Rhoads were the whole package.
Great songs, layered with great parts & melodies.
The solos were the icing on the cake!
"Hear about it later" is genius, from the intro to the overdubs to the lead break. It's amazing & far beyond simple riff rock.
Same with Randy on something like "Revelation" or "Over the Mountain."
These guys are musicians & songwriters, not just guitar players.
They have a gift combined with the talent that few have.

It just blows my mind that so many VH fans can't understand this & post silly things like, "Was Ed jealous of Yngwie?"

I posted somewhere that CVH had been together for 4 years before they hit the stage Big Time.

These cats have been on stage maybe 3 times last week.

I think the potential is great!

This may sound harsh, but I don't want to see this band or any band doing the same act(stage show) the were doing 25 years ago that's what Boots are for.

I would rather see a band --stand there and FUKKIN BLAST IT!!!

Than run around missing notes and jumping into the crowd to kick some dudes ass with a camera .

Hey this dude hads a camera!!!! Stop the show and Go Home, I'm gonna get my ass beat .

The shows will not be a let-down so enjoy it when you can.
