Well, let's see.......

Van Halen I has sold what, about 12, 13 million copies right now? And the songs from that album get daily radio airplay. Not to mention there was a Nissan commercial a few years back.

Ray Davies of the Kinks gets a little piece of all of the above, because Van HALEN had a hit with "You Really Got Me"

John Brim, or whoever his survivors are get a little piece of everything above (except the Nissan ad.)

In either case, both make more money from Van HALEN's version of their songs than the originals ever made.

You think they have a problem with that??

Now on the other hand, how often do you hear "Apolitical Blues" on the radio? Or the fake "live" version of "Won't Get Fooled Again"??

Pete Townshend and the remaining members of Little Feat ain't cashing many Van Hagar royalty checks these days.
