There are quite a few rumblings about Ed's playing. And I just sit and listen. I've deduced that those who are saying that he's "rusty" or that he didn't play this-or-that right have a condition called, "Album-itis".
It's when you've listened to the albums so much that you can't hear any creative freedom. Everyone needs to keep in mind that this is a live show. The flubs, the changes are all part of a live show experience. Well in all honesty Ed has made some pretty good mistakes on some of these tunes. Hitting wrong chords and notes aren't part of creative freedom. I'm all for him playing stuff a bit different, but at least do it in the correct key. A wrong note every so often happens to everyone, but you would think Ed wouldn't makes some of the mistakes he has. Perhaps it is nerves, or maybe he's just got a lot of rust.Comment
