Not an "I'll Wait" fan at all. Too soft and smushy. I like my Van Halen hard and arrogant.

"I'll Wait" was a sign of things to come and it wasn't pretty.

Yep! A sign of impending doom.

Can't stand the tune myself, but it got one of the biggest crowd reactions in Charlotte.

I like "I'll Wait," but I'd much rather hear them play "Hear About It Later," "DOA," "Hang Em High," or "Loss Of Control."

Funny, I must have missed the email from EVH and Dave asking what I thought the setlist should be.

"I'll Wait" was my least favorite of the songs in the Greensboro setlist. Of course picking a least favorite in the Greensboro setlist is like picking a least favorite Playmate of the Month. That show was incredible (& meeting the army at Fat Dogs preshow was a blast).

Becasuse there are a dozen or more better songs that people would want to hear played instead of it....

Exactly. And as we found out years later, Michael McDonald (the "Sammy Hagar" of the Doobie Brothers) had a hand in writing this synth drenched piece of crap, which makes it that much worse.

I couldn't stand "I'll Wait" or "Jump" when 1984 was first released. I warmed up to "Jump" eventually, but it certainly never became one of my favorites.

"I'll Wait" remains the one Van HALEN song that I wish they would have left OFF the set list for this tour. For these ticket prices, they should leave the goddamned keyboards at home.

I have always loved "I'll Wait" kind of the same way I love "You Got Lucky" by Tom Petty.

Mezro...a complete departure from what both were known for, yet still refreshing enough to be interesting...

It's a good fucking song, man. Christ, Eddie and Alex both started out playing music with the Piano. You can be guaranteed the way Eddie came up with most of Guitar Melody ideas from being Classically trained on Piano.

                            Good song, yes.

Heavy enough to kick my ass?

                            NOT EVEN.

It is a good, standard, radio-friendly, commercial rock tune.

                            The keyboards see to that.

It is not at all one of my fave tunes by them.

                            Same goes for "Dump".

It is ok, but not my cup o' tea.

I want to hear high-voltage guitar rock outta these guys.

                            Just my personal preference.

As is most of the album.

Definitely my least favorite VH album.

haveing keyboards is not the problem ,its the way thier being used ..... the doors and led zepplin had lots of keyboards in thier songs and they were great .....but the way van halen used thier keyboards drowned out eddies guitar and sounded too over produced ..... dump i'll wait and put in " yankee rose " ...that will surprised everyone ,plus i would love to hear eddies version of yankee rose ,its daves most popular song and would fit right in ....
