The vocals definitely sound deeper than just Wolfe and Ed at certain points.

Elvis, please tell me that you're not going to a show.

This reviewer is full of shit and belongs with Sam & Mike. Fuck him.
I assume you got a 5-star... tell me, was David Coverdale of Whitesnake there in the pit with you? I saw a guy that to me looked just like him there... I was right outside the pit, right on the ramp, and it looked to me like the guy 2nd row pretty much center was Coverdale.

            Elvis is a hater... ;-)

Despite all the reviews and YouTubes and opinions and disagreements, the fact that these guys are alive and have managed to get on stage together and play and sing as well as they have, is a miracle. I'm not saying anyone should settle for less than the best, but goddam, after the Hagar and Cherone suffering, are any of the flubs really that big a deal in the bigger scheme of things?!??!

By the way, the vox were good on DTNA when I saw DLR solo last November here in Seattle. lol

              NOT PIPED IN!!!!!!

I just watched "Little Dreamer" from Philly on Youtube.

Ed and Wolf sound great doing the "OOH OOH", and at one point, Ed is late getting to his mike, and you don't hear his voice until he sings- and it sounds awesome!!!
              HEY NOW!

Here are the only things I have noticed.

Could happen to anyone. Can't automatically claim they were caused by alcohol.

                1. During "Ain't Talking 'Bout Love" when Ed hits a G chord using his top 2 strings, they have been way out of tune for ALL of the first three shows.

I know why.....it can only be because he does his solo just before, and does not trade his axe for another one.

                2. I heard some off backing vocals during Charlotte.

So fucking what? It is the FIRST FUCKING SHOW!!

Not to mention, Wolfie is REALLY in the spot light!

in 2004 he was just coming out and jamming on one or 2 songs.

This tour he is playing the ENTIRE SET EVERY SINGLE NIGHT!!

I would expect him to be off on his background vocals. It is his first full blown tour, all the kinks need to be worked out, and he needs to get used to the idea that the sound is going to be a bit different every sing night.
Not to mention he has got to get over any nervousness he has about it.

Wouldn't you be freaked out if suddenly at age 16 you were playing in the BIGGEST BAND ON EARTH?

                It can only get better.

If Charlotte is the worst show of the tour just due to getting the engine tuned up, it can only get better. And their worst is still better than 99.9% of all other rock bands out there.

                So there are some goofs.

                I am soooooo fucking disappointed.

I am going to go sob myself to sleep knowing they made a few mistakes.

If Ed is already drinking, this will not last long at all. Dave will NOT put up with that shit the way the Other Half did.

it will piss me the fuck off if they don't make it to Boston!

I truly believe there is no way on Earth Ed is drinking on this tour. He loves that kid too much, it's obvious. By the looks of things, so do Uncle Al and Uncle Dave.

If Ed was drinking again, Valerie would pull Wolfie out of there in a snap.

Could be. I've read he dislikes changing guitars durning a set, but I think he should more often than he does, even in the old days.
Especially considering (this time) he's using essentially brand new guitars that may not be completely broken in yet.
Let's also not forget he has a brand new tech (who he seems to be yelling at a lot in the 'Little Dreamer' clip).

Exacty. Nothing even resembling anywhere near the kind of train-wrecks heard on the '04 stuff on the clips I've heard from this tour yet.
I think people are being a little hyper-critical, especially of Wolfie....
The kid's doing a respectable job for a 16 year-old on his 1st tour with the WORLD'S GREATEST ROCK BAND
(and yeah, they haven't deserved that title in 22 years, but I'm dusting it off)....

So true. I went to Charlotte with high hopes and big expectations, having seen them back in the day. The band has been one big clusterfuck for quite a while and needed much work to get things right again. Now, I'm not like a lot of people that expect 1978 or even 1984 all over again. The train called time just keeps on moving forward and it doesn't make u turns.
A funny thing happened in Charlotte though, That night the train jumped the tracks and took a new course. The path to redemption. I saw them head down that very road that night in N.C. Who knows where it will lead? Hopefully, we soon shall see. The one thing I do know is that once again i'm a believer. Are you?
