As for producing your own music, it's still a major gamble. I think they prob should have put out at least a single with this tour and listened for the reaction when the single was played live. That would have told them at least some of the audience was there for the new stuff.
Now they wont know until they spend their money and wait for the results. But I do recall David (a few years ago) talking about having songs downloaded from his site' as a novel idea without having to pay big bucks to the recording companies or labels.
