I predict some kind of album announcement in a couple of months time, it's all hush-hush so I guess they're working on somethin', but Ed is the determinating factor of the speed of the album makin' lol, could be a month up to x number of years lol
I also think now that he's presented his new guitar, he should put it to good use ...Comment

To me, THOSE are the only 2 real options at this point.

I know this might ruffle some feathers around here, but I think Mike was VERY important to the Classic Van Halen sound. I just about always get that "oh really?" look when I tell people that Mikey is my main influence. It cracks me up when drummers say that Neil Peart is their main influence and when you see them play, they play like Rikki Rockett. I looooove Victor Wooten, but I would NEVER list him as an influence. That dude loses me after the first note!

Actually I predict all of it, a reunion with Mike , a tour and an album, I think the whole Mike block could have actually all been a ploy to milk the "reunion" idea one more time.
They know they are in overtime, why not space it out.Comment

Agreed, Lounge. But you must remember that people are, by and large, making their predictions based on the erratic history of the VH brothers and their decision-making process.
The "2 real options" you mention above are exactly correct, and represent the common sense approach to the situation.
But neither Ed or Alex have ever used common sense. (I give you Gary Cherone, Ed deciding to do lead vocals, etc...)
We haven't voted for those because we know that those are the two CORRECT decisions. Ed and Al are simply incapable of making the CORRECT decision....about anything.

Unlike the best of the music they created, the Van Halens have no rhyme or reason to their decision-making process in terms of charting their career course...at least none I can see.
The one component above all others that defines an active, current band is new musical output. For whatever reasons, little to none has produced (or released) by Ed in the last decade.
If that trend is gonna continue, little else that happens matters to me. If Ed and Alex aren't gonna hunker down and concentrate some energy on some new tunes and make an effort for fans to hear them...well, fuck, Dave might as well take a walk.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment

If the rumour is true, about Dave being replaced by Hagar. I hope Dave hits the road with a solo tour, of his greatest hits. I think Dave`s set list should be 100% solo material, now the long awaited Van Halen tour is complete! After a tour, I would like to see, Dave release a couple of hard rocking albums, beore he retires!Comment

Look, this is the third time you've mentioned this rumor in this thread, and this will be the final time I will ask you: Where are you getting this story from? What is your source? This should not be a difficult question for you to answer, and you should welcome the opportunity to back up your statement with some verification. Otherwise, it's merely prognosticating without resource, and greatly reduces any credibility toward your statement of opinion.
Hell, anyone can predict that the Steelers (or Cardinals) will be the winner of the coming Super Bowl. Yet stating it as fact without any insight as to the reasoning behind the belief is kind of silly.
