Call it "glass ceiling" call it what you like, but typically if there's not an underlying tension in a Manager that they are physically capable to throw you out the window if you pull funky shit, the full respect is never there and it takes extra time to get things done.

Don't think she really did anything that astounding...

The whole ramp-up to the reunion started in, what late fall/early winter 2006, contained a publicity shot released before anyone figured out Ed wasn't in any condition to play, and reportedly a condition of the tour guarantee was that Ed get cleaned up prior to the start of the tour, otherwise the deal wouldn't be signed.

And Ed barely made it through the tour...he fell off the wagon halfway through and before the tour went on an unplanned hiatus, Ed was starting to slide back into that same behavior that characterized his last gigs on the 2004 tour.

I'd give more credit to Ed's kid for prompting his father to reunite with Dave than I would to the future Mrs. Van Halen.
