Um those number 1 albums of Van Hagar were on the mainstream rock charts, with maybe the exception of 5150...and guess why most people bought that album...because they were curious. There was no mainstream rock chart when Dave was in Van Halen...they were going against the Michael Jacksons and Princes' of the world.

Fact...the only number one hit they ever had was with Dave.

Fact....Classic VH has outsold Van Hagar almost 2 to 1

Fact....Dave doesn't sing pussy love ballads

Fact....EVH's best guitar playing was with Dave

Fact...Sammy's fat

Fact....Dave has never written a lyric as stupid as "only time will tell if we stand the test of time"

Fact....Sammy can't sing Dave's tunes

Fact....Sammy can't fill an arena by himself

Fact...Sammy's albums don't fly off the shelf

Fact....Sammy is a Jimmy Buffett wannabe, which ain't nothing to brag about

Fact.....Jethro Tull won a Grammy in the same category and they suck

Fact....Sammy will always be the NUMBER TWO singer, will always have to sing Dave's songs, be compared to Dave, and know that he will never put out an album that kicks as much ass as the original 6 Van Halen albums.

One thing i will say....Ed's playing has been stellar since album 1.....anyone that says his best playing was w/ Dave is incorrect. In fact, one of his best solos ever, IMO, was Pleasure Dome. If you're not familiar with it, give it a listen...no, i'm not trying to push Sammy here...just give the guitar a listen. A smokin' lead. And there's many others, including the new stuff. Great riffs.
