I like Paul's voice, but Dave's voice is so much more interesting.

And I saw plenty of the last VH tour on Youtube - Dave was brilliant. Don't understand why you would think he was a shadow of his former self?

Just gimme the US Festival. I stood in line for 3 hours at Music Plus in San Gabriel and the sombitch sold out in 10 minutes.

Had I known you could just walk thru the gate like Woodstock I woulda gone.

I'd like to see what I missed. I have cash available for the US Festival, and then we'll talk about a Van Halen album with all 4 original vocalists..

I don't even consider them a band, it's a fucking circus with lousy sounds and noise that they think and call music.

I hope they all fuckin slip and fall on stage when they hit South Florida so my kiss fanatic bud can cry like a fuckin baby! He's one that bores me with this bullSHIT talk of Gene's demo and so called helping of VH. WTF, if anything Gene and kiss needed the help. No really, they did and still do. Unless you're like my kiss bud and the rest of the brainWASHED kiss freaks who drool and blabber about the show, yea only the show and it's smoke and mirrors to coverup those lousy sounds and noise I mentioned earlier.

And how can anyone actually prefer Paul over Diamond Dave? You must be really FUCKED up on something to say that bullSHIT!!! kiss SUCKS ASS!!! Right ON VAiN!
            Nice first post, Holmes.

The great thing being that a good chunk of that stuff was shot on proper film, as opposed to videotape (am sure I'm not the only one who thinks that film just plain looks better).

Then a 2-disc audio companion with, say, the VH1 demos (and whatever other demos exist for the other albums). Bunch of live shit.

Fuck. I'd pay upwards of a c-note for that. $75, at any rate. Hell, make it a c-note if the band just keeps all Sam Halen shit AWAY from the whole project!

I have to imagine such a thing isn't possible because of a) legal wrangling over ownership, b) the source materials have been lost or c) the Van Halens won't release it because they're just plain afraid too - a case of fearing the kickass past dwarfing their meager present re: perceptions.

Otherwise, something along those lines would have been released by now.
I totally agree. Have it come packaged as a hardcover book like that one book series. They usually have a shitload of pics of the artist/band, information on the band, and shit. It would be really awesome.

Dave's voice and (believe it or not) Al's drumming were easily the two high points of the show I saw in 2008.

Paul Stanley's voice sounds fairly one-dimensional to me. Didn't notice it quite that much until Ace and Peter left the band in the early 1980s and KISS no longer had the requisite one or two tracks on an album for them to sing on.

It's a decent voice, but not a lot of variations in it.

Agreed that DITS was MORE than close enough for VH to be approaching disco...although I'd rather have a Van Halen disco album with Roth at the helm than a "rocking" Van Hagar album any day of the week.
I agree with you. Dynasty being a disco record is an urban legend. There is some killer shit on Dynasty and Ace had some of his best moments on that record. Anyone ever heard Hard Times?
