Mike Anthony and a bunch of Ampeg SVT amps and 8x10 speakers was a good thing. Ed and Dave were such a show people forget about Mike and Al who were one hell of a brutal rythum section. They were a monster.

Ed, and Al, hate Fat Mullet, (more than Hagar), as he taunted the Van Halen brothers, by not attending, Mrs Van Halen`s funeral in 2005.
Fat Anthony has been out of favour with the Van Halen`s since, 1996.

Does it even matter?
For the last 14 years or so, the only thing worth talking about in terms of 'Van Halen' has been the ongoing soap-opera clashes between current members and ex-members. Are they getting along? Who is pissed off at who this month? What did this guy say about that guy in this interview regarding something that happened twenty years ago?
Who gives a fuck?
Personally, I don't even care if Ed and Dave are "new brothers" or not if it doesn't result in some new music or the vaults being cleaned up for a new release.
The band weren't all that chummy back in the days when they were making music that mattered. When Hagar came onboard, the band did everything short of public circle jerks in interviews to display how well they were all getting along once Dave left. The musical result was a dud.
Am not interested in the gear Ed slaps his name onto, or what Valerie Bertinelli has to say about her years married to Ed, or what Mike and Sam have to say about the 2004 tour...or even the supposed travelling accomodations that apparently kept Dave apart from the Van Halens offstage on the last tour.
All of that pales next to the only thing that matters: new music and/or vault releases.
The rest of it can fuck off to The Young And The Restless Land (or, in Ed's case, The Old And The Drunken Ville) where it belongs.Scramby eggs and bacon.Comment

Let's quit giving life to this internet born lie...
There's never been anything factually stated by anyone remotely associated with the band that Mike did or did not attend a funeral for Mrs Van Halen.
The was no public mention of her passing in the press anywhere. Not even an Obituary was published. There's no proof any sort of public funeral was even held. Most likely a quiet family ceremony with close friends of momma VH and that was it.
The general public wouldn't have even heard of her passing had it not been mentioned by Ed in a fucking drunken 4am interview on the Two Dorks radio show... Ed never mentioned Mike and a funeral... ever..."If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”Comment
