... fingers crossed that with the return of dave to the vh fold and a tour under their belts the longtime dream of the fans will come true and we'll finally see a live video with dave. what's the story behind this crazy void anyway? why still no live stuff with the supreme diamond man? time we got some of that stuff already. while we're all still alive please ...

Other than the US Festival and Largo '82, there really are no Pro-shot videos of the CVH era.... And I know from previous interviews that Ed hates the US Festival show 'cause they were so hammered....

And in reference to the '07-'08 tour, from what Ed said after questions were raised about releasing a DVD, he said something along the lines of "we just finished the tour, why would we release a DVD ??"....

Who the hell knows....

That is one of the coolest fuckin' analogies I've ever heard to describe this band! Spot-fuckin'-on!

I'm sure there's at least one full pro shot show from 1979, and another from 1981 (Oakland) in the can. I don't buy the myth that they only filmed three songs from each of those shows.

Now as to who owns that footage or where exactly the master copy is, I wouldn't pretend to know the answer.

Wouldn't it be funny if ED has been milking us all for years ..he was in a booze filled frenzy back in 87 and heard, are you ever going to jam with DLR agian..... one too many times ...and burned them all in his back yard.

Or Dave is asking for certain monies or rights that VH won't give into and it is just a conflict that DLR won't back down from and ED won't give into.

They can still jam and be friends and tour and record, but the CVH years are a seperate entity.

I think it is because Ed is just plain lazy. Why no new music to speak of. If Dave is still in the band, which I have to believe he is, then they have been reunited for almost 3 fuckin years. How can a rock n roll band exist and not come up with ANY new music TOGETHER in three years? Ya, I know, it's Van Halen.
