Circus had decent pics, but I liked Hit Parader a bit better.

Hit Parader was OK too, but it was more poppy than either Creem or Circus...

Creem had the rockin' captions to go with the pics...I remember around '83, in 10th grade there was a pic of Dave and Ed, rockin' out, the caption below the pic said 'We are the Frito Banditos'...well, it may have been a hadda-be-there-visual kind of thing, but I got to giggling, and couldn't stop, lost the mag to the teacher, and eventually got sent to the bldg. master's office, because I couldn't get fucking 'Frito Banditos' out of my head.
No, I did not eat any mescaline prior to the event...Creem just had some snappy writers and was more edgier than Circus or Hit Parader.
