I'm gonna attempt to give the benefit of the doubt here....

Obviously, Sambo and the boys had to do some amount of rehearsing, I mean even though I strongly disagree with their selection of singers, these guys are still professional musicians....

But I reflect back to VH1's show of the top 100 Hard Rock Artists....

Henry Rollins described Van Halen's (DLR-led) show a "stellar production, a 10"....

So in that respect, there is no doubt in my mind that Dave would make damn sure that ALL aspects of their show would be at their optimum performance before they even attempted to go out on the road...

And I believe that would consist of not only how they sound musically, but I'm also referring to the stage show, setlist, tickets, marketing/advertising, promotions, press access, interviews, etc., etc., etc....

ALL of which have been poorly organized....

I just can't get behind a band, or a former guitar legend, that leaves me in a state of PERPETUAL DISAPPOINTMENT. For 19 years, Eddie's been under the thumb of a Rock n Roll empire that Dave built(ALMOST SINGLEHANDEDLY!!), and can't get from beneath the shadow NO MATTER HOW FUCKIN' HARD HE TRIES, or drinks!!!! Whether you like Van Hagar material or not, or you remain loyal to Ed or not is of NO CONSEQUENCE WHATSOEVER. All the reviews I've read say Ed's in bad shape... Now I read that shit on OTHER websites, not just this one. He's forgetting songs, flubbing solos, and his tone sucks... man, if Dave was in the band, and they were pulling this shit, HE'D QUIT AGAIN!!! I'm just SICK AND TIRED of being SICK AND TIRED with Ed. Even Wolfie's kickin' Ed's ass on guitar.. WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT ABOUT!?!???!?!!!! Definitely have no interest in seeing Roth rejoin Van Halen if the rest of the group aren't capable of putting out new material worth listening to.


Ray and Brian bring the classic material on harder live now than Ed and Al are capable of doing. Already got my fix of 6 pack songs live over the last several years when Roth took it to the stage while the sisters did squat.

Cathedral is spot on about a Roth reunion being of use only if the band is going to add to the legacy.

To see classic Van Halen going through the motions on a greatest hits tour is just not of interest. Would run counter to everything the band once stood for. Would be an embarrassment and a shameful cash grab. Leave that shit to the Stones, the Who, the Eagles, KISS and Van Hagar.
