LOL! Right on bro...Axl should have that one in stores for Christmas....2030.
Seriously, on the thread topic, I have listened to and/or seen some of these newer acts, Nickelback, Course of Nature, Velvet Revolver, Disturbed, Staind, P.O.D., Korn, Linkin Park, 3 Doors Down, Puddle of Mudd. A lot of unimpressive music, maybe one or two catchy songs. Also, how many of the newer artists will be around for more than one or two cd releases? Seems like an awful lot of them flame out faster than one of my kid's sparklers.
Firebrand makes a very good point.Comment

Rock & roll isn't dead yet but it's on life support at this moment which began in the 80's up to now. Rock & roll was a force to be reckoned with during the 60's & the 70's which has faded into history sadly because of MTV. Van Halen is one of the last great rock & roll bands of its kind & one of the last who had a impact on my life during my youth in the 70's. Nothing has happened in rock since the 80's & 90's from U2, Motley Crue, Guns-N-Roses & NIivana no matter what critics might think which is why the death of rock & roll is closer than you think.Comment

There's a ton of great music out there. You just have to search for it. The corporate asses running the industry now keep everything under control by releasing shit for mass consumption. No way do they want another round of rock gods such as Zep and classic VH roaming the earth. Hell, these bands had the gall to want to call their own shots.Comment

Well, if there's a ton of good music...
...out there, why do you have to search for it?
I am telling you, I teach high school, and I've heard almost every one of the new bands. 99.8% of them flat out suck, and the other .02% will be forgotten next year. With a rebel yell, she cries "more more more!"...Comment
