You only have to look at Dave to tell he's not lazy. He's in great physical shape and at his age, you don't look like that drinking beer, eating hot dogs, and watching TV. I would say Dave has other interests besides music and probably likes to keep that aspect of his life private. Maybe he feels the last tour brought the closure the fans were waiting so long for and who knows what is going on at the VH camp these days.
Is Dave more lazy than Eddie?

I can almost promise everyone there will be some Roth Ed Alex and Wolf music coming up fairly soon.
But like the VH camp they always confirm "this time next year" I mean that is what we keep hearing and someday the years will run out and well...by this time the next year we will have some tunnage.
But seriously I bet these guys want to work out something nice and that takes time.
Do I think any of them are lazy...?
Not... -thome lazy -....I can do some serious wasting of "The Time" my brother, Oh buddy.
I can lay around so hard I almost wake up from my daze in China, No Sh!T ..!!
-Fukking Off- is my middle name .
I am looking forward to some decent stuff from DLR and the gang Not perfect not greatness some think is "The Only Way"....just some good old rock..should be quite cool.Comment

Don't forget Dave learned how to fly a helicopter which he said was probably the hardest thing he has ever done in his life. Dave ain't lazy.Even if you were trying to troll with this thread, it's a valid enough question...and one that hasn't really been discussed in depth. Dave has been much more active than Eddie in the last decade. From constant touring, radio show, EMT training, bluegrass, etc... Dave is always been keeping himself busy, so he is far from "lazy". Lazy with the writing of new music? Well, considering that is pretty much all he has done his adult life, I don't think a decade of exploring other things is such a crime. Especially since he kept the fans happy by still touring regularly.
Point is, Dave was singing Panama to thousands of people while Eddie was passed out in his dark, converted garage.
As far as songwriting goes I'm sure Dave has "10 albums worth of new material" in the can, oh wait that's EVH...

I wouldn't be suprised if the Diamond Dave cd sold more internationally than it did in the U.S.
It really doesn't matter because it is not like Dave is financially strapped. It makes me think of the Roth/Hager and the Diamond Dave tours when he performed Hot For Teacher and sang, "I've got it made, got it made, got it made...."
At the end of the day it is a business. Dave may feel that probable sales for new solo record don't warrant one. He may not want to do a record and sell 30k like Ratt did or 12k like Vince Neil did. A new Van Halen record is a different beast though. A CVH record may sell 100k on the low end but i think 250k to gold would be more probable.RIDE TO LIVE, LIVE TO RIDE

Dave toured a lot more - and in more parts of the world than VH - after the split in 85. But, hey - Ed's got 10 albums in the can, man - and don't forget he found a cure for cancer, and all those new ways to use those red white and black stripes. What a Renaissance man ...
If you look up ASCAP - the songwriter copyright organisation where all song-writing work that is published is logged I think you'll find that DLR has written (well, co-written) as many originals as Eddie. Despite all the flack he got for always wanting to do covers, etc., he still wrote as many tunes as VH.THINK LIKE THE WAVESComment

What's hard about learning to fly a helicopter is you learn on tiny ones. I learned on a Robertson with a piston engine in it. If you can fly one of those well once you get into bigger ones it's a lot more stable and easier. I paid a lot of money to get my FAA rating and the guy shows up and he's a fat slob weighing over 300 pounds! It's a hot day and we are at 4500 feet. I took the doors off to reduce weight, hell, I even took my boots and belt off but he was too fat and heavy and it was not safe to fly. That's the federal government for you. The FAA is a fucking joke. No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

The thing is, Nitro actually has some experience about helicopter flight, so his knowledge is refreshing. The fact is, a person can gain more insight from a single one of his posts than all of your nonsense filled, poorly written and trolling efforts combined.
