Ah yes beautiful girls! The anthem for summer time fun right there.

No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!

Wait just a goddamn minute, Bin......

By your very measuring stick...ie. aggression and heaviness..... FW cannot be bested.

      Ed was NEVER more aggressive.

Dave was maybe only on EEAS.

Fuck the other two. (Sorry Kwame.)

By the measuring stick of aggression and heaviness what the fuck is the guy from Stryper and the guy from Warrant doing on the show?

That is a valid point. Between the two records i think it is too close to say which one is heavier. They both pack a mean ass punch.
Jani also misquoted when he was arguiing for FW by mentioning the song Dirty Women.

FW is my personal fav VH album. As far as edgier goes... I can understand that for WACF. The songs for the most part are heavier. The recording isn't anywhere near as slick as FW. WACF is way more raw/live sounding. ---- edit to add: I'm not 100% sure Mike even played bass on FW. The tone and groove of the bass do not sound like him.

FW, WACF and II are pretty much my stand-by albums when I listen to VH. At least they didn't compare DD and 1984. With the exception of Jump and Pretty Woman, I like both albums quite a bit, but... Ed's guitar tone on 1984 is the true beginning of that crappy rubberbandy sound that led into the Van Crapgar days. And I don't really dig that tone. Which is prob one of the 2 reasons I never bought the Peavey 5150 head. (The 2nd reason is, it's a Peavey.)

Yup, I would say that Van Halen, specifically Classic Van Halen, comes up on well over half of their episodes in one way or another....

I like the idea of a show focused on hard rock & metal, but Eddie Trunk has proven himself to be a really dumb douche. There is video from the show where he's stuttering and stammering to name all 11 Van Halen studio albums, although Trunk calls himself a huge VH fan.

Trunk also had a recent radio interview with Gary Cherone where he proudly proclaims that "Eddie is sooner or later going to have to deal with the fact that Van Hagar music is popular and needs to be played in concert". Does Trunk even know that Van Hagar had a reunion tour in 2004 and most of the venues were half-empty?

Like I said ---- TRUNK IS A REALLY DUMB DOUCHE

Lately I've been playing Van Halen II alot, but I think that's only because it's summer, and that's the ultimate summer album.

WACF and Fair Warning both stand on their own for different reasons, and to argue about which one is 'better' is really kinda stupid.
I agree 100%.........but if I had to choose, it would be Fair Warning by a nose. It has everything on it, it's dark in places, Ed's a fucking animal on it and the songs and band are firing on all cylinders!

VHII gets massive playing time here in the summertime, too! One of the best summer albums of all time, IMHO!

I'd disagree. I think 'Fools', 'Loss of Control' and 'Romeo's Delight' are heavier than anything on FW (although 'Unchained' comes close).

WACF feels rawer, more spontaneous. But by any musical standard, FW is the better - and more complete - record.
