The show has decent guests...I can stomach Eddie Trunk...his radio show isn't half-bad...I don't always agree with what he says, but that's all subjective.

I definitely could do without the other two guys. Supposedly they're stand up comics, but neither of them are funny. The show could also nix the lame ass Top 5 whatever of all time lists, as well as the debates over whatever vs. whatever that close each show. I mean, when you got a guest like Bill Ward, Tony Iommi, etc., all I want is to hear what the guest has to say. When Trunk interviews guests on his radio show one on one, it's usually a decent interview; I mean, the guy does know his stuff, despite pulling punches at times and not asking the hard questions (I suppose if your interviews are more like inquisitions, you won't get too many guests, but on That Metal Show he throws out so many softballs that at times the interviews aren't even worth watching). The two assclowns he has on That Metal Show are fucking useless. Nix them, get a couple of big-titted whores in g-strings sliding up and down a stripper pole while he conducts the interviews, shitcan the Top 5 lists, the Vs. segment and the Stump The Trunk nonsense and it'd be a decent show.

Did anyone catch the first show if this season with Iommi on it? I am curious to know if anyone caught the bit where Iommi was asked if Van Halen really blew them off the stage. Jim Florentine, not the guy with the sideburns, said he was at one particular show and it didn't happen. He was antiquating it to an urban legend and said that in his estimation VH had more energy but most people didn't seem to know the VH songs. He went on to say that there was no one leaving halfway thru the Black Sabbath set as if they had seen all there was to see. My question about this is this: was there one particular show where this was supposed to have happened, or was this a trend that was seen during that particular tour where Van Halen was kicking Sab's ass everynight? My point being, Florentine's perspective may be from one show but he didn't see the entire tour. Iommi's answer by the way was that he didn't see it that way. He thought VH were killer but he wasn't aware that they "blew them off the stage." I wouldn't expect him to say differently but then again i think Iommi is honest enough to admit this to be fact if he thought it to be true considering it was the last tour with Ozzy and they were on the way out so to speak.

The show is going to be especially nauseating with the upcoming episode with Spammy Hagar. I believe it's a one-hour special. Trunk will be his usual douchey self --- fawning over Red Fatso and telling us how much demand there is for a Van Hagar reunion album & tour. Get your vomit bags ready!

Florentine is a dumb douche, so I don't put much stock into what he recalls may have happened over 30 yrs. ago.

I do respect what Henry Rollins says --- and he says VH blew Ted Nugent off the stage, and the Nuge was a bigger and better act than the Sabs in the late 70's:

I have a good friend who is a Sabbath fan and not into Van Halen who mentioned she saw them in Scotland on that tour. I asked her what it was like and the first thing she said was 'Van Halen completely blew Sabbath off the stage'.

That all depends on which substance your using at the time. If it's booze, then "Fair Warning." If it's weed, then "WACF."

Might as well just listen to them back to back then.

Really? For me, the hard hitting tracks on WACF (like "Everybody Wants Some!!", "Fools", TYWH") sound so much better when imbibing alcohol. Hell, even "Could This Be Magic?" works for a drunken sing-along. The more refined energy on Fair Warning cries out for the doobage, particularly if you happen to be solo-tripping with the headphones on.

Then again, to each his/her own.

WACF feels rawer, more spontaneous. But by any musical standard, FW is the better - and more complete - record.
OK bro.... I feel like we can come to terms..... Or maybe not?

Which album broods? Which album leaves you thinking?

The heavier one. Fair Motherfucking Warning.

I said I LOVE WACF. "Fools" is my all time favorite cut. I think its the BETTER record. BUT...... It aint heavier. More loose? Yep. Rawer? Sure.

But you can FEEL the tension within the band on this album. The aggression. The heaviness. Yeah?

                      I respect you, man.......

                      But you are wrong.

Its not a which one is better poll......

Fair Warning is my fav CVH album. Love everything about it. I also think the production/mix on it is the best of the six. Thick sound, you can actually hear the bass guitar and bass drum. Has some thump.

If you really want an argument compare VH I to Fair Warning . Each record pretty much flawless frontwards & backwards. WACF doesn't have the weight for me that the other 2 albums do.

"Now that I'm thinking of it even more, it's going to take half the time, Double D, Diamond Dave! Would you hold Fluffy?"
                          "N--- yeah."

Finally got a chance to watch this and was surprised at how healthy (and lucid) Jani seemed. You totally would've thought the dude was getting his shit together from that appearance. As for the debate, I love both WACF and FW, but for me the darkness and overall aggression level on Fair Warning just cannot be beat. EVH sounds like he wants to kill everybody...

Won't even bother to watch it.

Just got no use for Hagar. Can't even say I think all of his music sucks, but his output on the whole is just average piddle, so why even bother?

Van Hagar should reunite and tour. Hey, why not? It's not like Van Halen have exactly been in any hurry to capitalize on Dave being back in the band going on 4 years now, unless one deems a single US reunion tour as the highwater mark of productivity. Bring Hagar and Anthony back into the group, let 'em hit the road and for all those who want to see it I hope they'd have a good night out. In the meantime, life goes on.
