    Message to Edward Van Halen....

    1. I know you love your son, but he is not 1/10th the bass player Michael is. After watching a few boots of you guys from back in the day, it is painfully obvious. Not to mention Wolfy is a statue compared to Michael. Not to mention THE FANS DEMAND IT. So get down off your fucking high horse and make amends.

    2. Stop dicking around and release some DVDs of COMPLETE shows from 1978-1986 on DVD.

    Again, THE FANS DEMAND IT.

    Consider this....if it were not for your fans, you would not have been playing a gig in Louisiana where you met Val. And, by extension, if it were not for your fans, you would not have Wolfy.

    You have everything due to your fans. How about throwing us a small bone and giving us some nice box sets and stuff. YOU may not have a lot in your personal vault, but WB does.

    And, as your shows from South America in 1983 were broadcast on National TV, the networks down there should still have the master tapes in their archives.

    Get on with it.

                              With Dave back in the fold I think we're gonna see some cool archive stuff released eventually. Afterall, Dave loves self promotion, and even more, Dave loves money! I would think aquiring the rights to the 1983 South American shows would be fairly cheap, however remastering the 28 year old footage might not be. Releasing the US Festival show would be awesome, I know Triumph's release turned out great (I heard Woz was a big help in getting it released). Here's hoping!!

                                  I have strong doubts that south american TV footage from 1983 is archived anywhere... The US Fest is more likely in that the recording is probably still is in-tact, but no way they release it as-is and too much time has gone by for the guys to clean it up without it sounding obvious. At best we get the 3 or 4 tracks that aired on Showtime. Oakland 81 seems to be the logical choice or some sort of timeline compilation with Wolf's face CGI'd over Mikes...

                                      Ed will never kick Wolfie out of the band. Hell, would you do it to your kid after you spent all the years teaching him to play and convincing him he was good enough to play in the mighty Van Halen? "Oh well, kid, you didn't live up to it, now you're out." It's family. Ain't gonna happen.

                                          Guess it will only be a matter of time now, pretty sure Ed checks in on this site all the time! To recap: finish the album ( Dave's vocal inabilities notwithstanding). Open these alleged "vaults", does anyone know WHAT may or may not be archived? Nope. Ed and Val would never, ever have met if not for that one show (GREAT logic). Awesome post, never saw any of this brought up before. Next thread, Ed's 1979 roadie tells all. OOOOHHHHHH!

                                                      Been a member here for a while but this is my first post. While I much prefer MA on bass! and he is much more of a showman and paid his dues, we can thank Wolfie for one thing... getting his dad to go back and do the old "GOOD SHIT" we can at least thank him for that, I doubt we would have even had the last tour without wolfie. who knows, get that fucking album out already!
