as for declining album sales...here are the DLR years and they were declinging as well before Diver Down rebounded (how did it sell 4 million? Pretty Woman, was that the big single?) and then the HUGE success of 1984.

Diver Down sold 4 million because it is an awesome album! secrets...little guitars...The full Bug!! as for Fair Warning, I will never understand that, its the ULTIMATE classic VH album, my favorite by far>

FW is the ultimate, but as far as mainstream commercial appeal it really didn't have a Top 40 friendly single on it... Unchained has grown over the years to become one of THE all-time classics at rock radio, however. It drives sales of FW to this day, and BOV1 as well.

Also, FW is pushing 3 mil if memory serves on more recent figures. I'd expect RIAA recertification of it to 3x platinum at some point. The whole 6-pack in fact has great yearly sales, and always will, with the debut and 1984 leading the way. The Sam era stuff is heavily discounted most everywhere I see it. Best Buy always has the original stuff well stocked here, for good reason (demand), and at full retail.

I travel a fair amount around the country and see NO indication anywhere I go of that being the case... The Sam stuff is, by and large, whereas the 6-pack isn't. The most discounting I've ever seen on any 6-pack material was maybe a couple of bucks off of WACF or Diver Down. Meanwhile, f.u.c.k., RHRN and yes, ou812 are at 1/2 price. Only Sam era I've seen to hold retail for the most part is 5150.
