Agreed, girlfriend. However, did you happen to catch the name on the door on your way in? This is the motherfucking ROTH ARMY. Don't come into Dave's house and spout off negative bullshit.
Isn't that what Hitler said to his army too? Called "Propaganda" dude!
I've nothing negative to say about what I'm hearing from ADKOT, so all is good from my end.
BUT...if something is not up to snuff, man it's gotta be called out! That's how things get improved.
Christ, when DAVE was off doing that Vegas shit, I had to admit that it was fuckin' terrible!
My wife asked at the time, "has he switched teams, or what?"
Love the guy, but sometimes tough love is required....
Gimmee a bottle of carb-free beer, and a low-fat muffin...TO GO!

I have to agree with this, mainly because of the idea of having blind faith in just about anything these days is a dangerous principle. Look, everyone has some sort of flaw, so the sun does NOT shine out of a particular individual's bunghole. Yeah, it's great to have heroes, just as long as you realize that even heroes come with some degree of human frailty. There are a handful of folks that I look to for inspiration in life, yet not for a minute do I believe any of them to be above criticism or question. By the same token, I do not hold every move they make or word they utter up to a microscope for some absurd amount of introspection about what it all means or how I should relate to it. Like Freud said, "Sometimes a cigar is just a cigar."
Yes, David Lee Roth fucking rules. That doesn't mean he hasn't spilled beer in his lap on occasion like the rest of us.
"The Original Six Pack" was coined by us die hard fans of Van Halen. Obviously used to differentiate the trash that followed by he who's name shall not be spoken. I don't think we start calling it "A Seven Pack" 20 fucking years after the fact. 2 Reasons. 1. It sounds stupid 2. It's not the same band......

Ya got to give it to the guy......
Instead of playing it safe he went wherever the muse took him......yeah, it was a mixed bag of results at best and more than once had me scratching my head going, WTF!
To me that's the difference between a creative artist and a liquor salesman......one strives to be vanilla and the other adds habaneros just to see what would happen
Even the greatest slugger in baseball struck out more than a few times!

When I'd see him doing something that seemed 'way out there' I just shrugged it off because I figured that his personality was just so eclectic and 'way out there' that it was just Dave being Dave. He does a lot of different things because they may be fun or they may be silly enough to have a laugh or any number of other reasons. He'd be boring without all of the diverse interests and manifestations of those interests.

Technically, you're correct. (which is probably the first and last time I can say that about anything you have posted) but this new album sounds like it should be part of the 6 pack. Ironically, I remember posting just a few months ago (before any of us had heard a single song from this record) that we shouldn't expect another FAIR WARNING. But damned if that's what we didn't get. Or if not another Fair Warning, then the long awaited follow-up to that record. Because in my estimation, "A Different Kind of Truth" has more in common with the first 4 Van Halen albums than Diver Down or 1984.
