Out of all the current albums from older bands, (AC/DC,KISS,Ratt, ect.)

I gotta say Van Halen got closer to their "glory days sound" than any of them. It's already been said before here, but even the new songs that weren't demos sound like CVH.They couldn't get any closer at this stage in the game....other than having Ted come back in,but still even without him, this thing is just killer. Not perfect, but by God it's great.I had no clue honestly what we'd get after all these years, but Eddie,Dave,Alex, and even Wolfie pulled together and gave us the best damn thing they could manage, and it shows.

I just love the fact that this SOUNDS like they give a fuck, they worked like motherfucker on this thing....

      You and your blues, unplugged.

Just a quick review, I have too for this one.

The unplugged song, you and your blues.

Holy cow I love this, it sounds dynamite .

They did a great job on it, and the lyrics are well thought out.

Hey psycho, please get out of my Van Halen T-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up.

I knew I was not going to be the only person who heard Russell, lol.

I am still laffing over that. Funny how something so ridiculous can add such a neat, humorous frosting to the song.

Too bad they did not give him credit on the album for a "background vocal", lol.

Also I caught an "error"....on Blood and Fire, the lyric in the CD sleeve is "God must love the crazy..the shiftless and the lazy", but Dave sings "God must love the lazy, the shiftless and the crazy....".

Oh well. Spur of the moment. Man...when Ed lifts off on his solo right after that....it is FUCKING AWESOME!

          And then......B-B-B-B-B-B-B-B-Bullethead!

Two more things.....to all the sheeple out there worship the fat unmentionable klown....FUCK YOU. Your lord and master could never create any music that even comes close to this level, no matter how many virtuoso musicians he surrounds himself with.

            Also.....I predict first week.....200,000 units MINIMUM.......Gold in a month....Platinum in max of 2 months......

            And this is a no-brainer:

A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRUTH WILL DEBUT AT NUMBER ONE ON THE BILLBOARD TOP 200 ALBUM CHART!

I never thought I'd see the Eagles reunite. They did. Never thought I'd see KISS reunite. They did. Never thought Led Zeppelin would play again (sans Bonham of course). They did. REALLY NEVER thought Van Halen would reunite again much less put out an album. Wow did they ever!!!! This disc is great!! So much energy on this thing.

"If you go out and buy a Van Halen record and put it in your collection, it'll melt your other records." - David Lee Roth, Early 1980s

Still holds true, only now they have the candlepower to melt all of your other CDs. It's rare you get to use the words "fucking awesome" to offer a heartfelt description of some new music you'd just heard. This is one such occasion.

This CD sounds better with every different medium I use.
Good on CPU speakers, great in car CD player, HOLY FUCK
thru headphones!!! The bass line thru the midsection of 'Beats
Working' just blew me away. I'm picking up different nuances
                      with every listen.

Parked at far quiet end of Best Buy parking lot. Had my 44oz coke & fresh pack of smokes all set. Sat there & just looked at the cd & receipt for a couple of minutes to let it soak in. Put the cd in and at 1st went straight to As Is since I was loving it so much from the computer & wanted to hear it loud. Plyed it 1x and was amazed.

                          Lit a smoke

Let cd play from track 1 - 13 non stop all while staring at the lyrics inside and artwork. (Wolf...girlfriends come & go. Brave move thanking her first). Then I went back and replayed 3-4 of my favorite stand outs. Then 1 more round of 1-13. Sat there for 2 1/2 hours. Driving around today still loving the cd & really starting to know the songs better. Fun!

Amazing cd all around. Damn, 13 is a lot of tunes. We are truly fortunate.
