Dave's Songwriting Genius

As I listen to ADKOT, Over and over, The lyric's are just so Dave. Also, His delivery singing has not gotten the credit it should, IMO. Other sites comparing him with Hagar, And others is not fair. Dave is Van Halen, And a ADKOT would not be what it is without him. The album is just packed with Dave genius. My current favorite track, OUTTA SPACE, Has a verse; COUNTERBLAST, INTERSTELLAR, FACIAL, FULL BOMBER STICKER OM MY ROCKETS ASS, GO HOME THE EARTH IS FULL. I mean come on, Who else can write shit like that, And make it awesome. Only Diamond Dave. Yes we salute, Ed's slammin work on ADKOT, But Dave, You are the man.

Really who cares about the bad reviews from people who don't get it or aren't fans of VH or Dave fronted VH or whatever? The thing that I notice is all of the people/fans who were saying this album is going to suck and now they are eating crow and admitting and even rejoicing about how great the album is and that the real VH is back! This is an album that is going to grow by word of mouth because the word is getting out there! I personally have gotten so many of my friends to buy the album already.

The album speaks for itself, and that's all that matters. Again, I will say this again, I don't and never did give a flying fuck what other people think about me and what I like or dislike.......but I am the kind of person who tries to look for the good in things and what it is that I can learn from whatever subject.

Ugh...I always get shit here when I mention this...but. I play World Of Warcraft and "frost" is a type of player you can be. All frost spells to freeze & blast enemies. So the Stay Frosty fits extremely well in certain situations.

And so yeah...I've used it a few times this week.

the only bad thing about the Triumphant Return of the Mighty Van Halen is that we've got too damn many people posting on here now. I can't read what everyone has to say, because there's just too much of it.

as to my review, what can I say that hasn't already been said, it's so much better than I thought it would be, and I was one of the fuckin' optimists who thought it would be good. I love every goddamn track. and they all sound better the louder you play them!!

I was 11 years old (my son's age right now, and he's really just a little kid in a lot of ways) when 1984 came out. I liked some of the hits, but wasn't emotionally invested yet. I seem to recall getting 1984, 5150, and EEAS all around the same time. I know that I immediately went back and picked up the first 5 records. As a dumb teenager, I thought Van Halen (the current edition with Hagar) was my favorite band, but I realized later that Van fuckin' Halen was my favorite band with Diamond Dave leading the way. So, in a very strange way, at damn near 40 years old, there's this iconic band with 6 classic fuckin' albums that has been my favorite band since I was a kid, but this is really the first time I've ever experienced a new record coming out and hearing it all for the first time.

So, after all that word barf above, I will review this record in one word, in a way that I'm sure Dave would approve:

STELLAR!
