I'm a Classic Van Halen diehard and there was a time when the only Van Halen reunion that would have been acceptable was one featuring the original four. Not now. After reading an interview with Mike saying he was dead set against ever working with Dave again in the late 90s, his unjustified anti-Dave stance in general over the years, and his embarrassing forward in the replacement singer's autobiography - sadly, it's clear that the bass player would rather 'do Van Hagar', based on his friendship with Sammy, than give 90% of the fanbase what they want - Dave. Mike has lost 'it'. 'It' being the CVH spirit and attitude. Unless he is being less than completely honest, so as not to offend the childish Hagar, then Mike has all but admitted that he would rather play When It's Love than Unchained. I'll always love the guy, but today, Wolfie has more CVH running through his veins than Mike and that's one of the reasons why the 2007/08 tour was so great, and why ADKOT is such an amazing album. Good for you Wolfie!

Going back to Mikey for me now would almost be anticlimactic considering the level of musicianship going on with the three twins. It would be cool on a nostalgic level no doubt, but Wolf has transformed VH into a power trio. With Michael Anthony it was Ed and Alex dominating the sound, now it's three people tearing it up in a big way. VH 2012 is a killing machine that no band can get near, thanks to Wolf.

Why, if your a guitar god in your early 20's would you ever get married in the first place??????????????? Live your life first man....enjoy that shit!!! The whole band were all married young and Uncle Dave was free to enjoy his youth and his success and do his own thing on his own time. No wonder why these guys couldn't relate to each other back in the day. Dave was off in the Amazon or climbing mountains and doing whatever the hell he wanted without having to answer to anybody while the other three were foolish enough to have people to answer to while they were still extremely young, successful men. I don't get it.....nothing against the institution of marriage, but if your a young, successful musician in the most popular band at the time, why would you suddenly confine yourself to one woman? And why would you go ahead and marry a woman who was originally after your lead singer???? Wolfie must have seen some crazy shit growing up. Anyway, thanks Wolf for helping bring this shit together and for realizing that VH 1978-1984 is the only VH......and thanks for playing your ass off on the new album and for having such a good voice.....why it wasn't used more on the album I don't know.

One small problem with that Angel. After a while, you find yourself sitting alone with zero friends around because they've all fucked you over in 1 way or another yet you never forgave them. Grudges are a bitch and quite heavy.

Only Eddie, Alex and Mike can answer your question. I suppose it must have been......love. To single out Eddie, we all wanted Eddie to remain '1978 Eddie', so we could continue to live our own rock n' roll fantasy through him. But he met a girl, fell in love and who are we to say, "No you can't do that!"

Acoustic Panama shows them all smiling and enjoying the jam. I love seeing people playing music together like this. It's not necessarily about note-for-note precision. I think Wolfie has more than that. Somebody before mentioned Van Halen Spirit.

I'm talking about a serious breach of trust, not the small things. If I can't trust someone, I let them, and it, go. That's not the same as carrying a grudge. Should have said, breach my trust and you're no longer part of the inner circle.

As for friends, they come and go. A very wise man once told me that if on the day you die you can say you have had one true friend, then you are a very lucky person indeed.
