I might have missed it while reading through this thread, but I think it wasn't mentioned (correct me if I'm wrong):

There's something you do with a classic mic, that is modulate the input of your voice by putting it back and forth according
to the strength you deliver - your mouth close to it when you sing low, and the louder you scream, the farther from it.
So, unless a sound engineer is there to modulate here and there according to how strong the voice is, how do you produce
the same nuances with a head-set?

By the way, I see nothing wrong with Dave having both hands free and singing that way.
As long as he feels all right that way and delivers like this!

Hey, it's still a mic element like any other, and can be used dynamically...not that a current lip-sync artist would know that, but betting Dave does!
