Just heard Bababoey talking about how VH declined the Stern show. He said Janie declined on behalf of the Van Halen's and that he was working with Dave's publicist "who was fired" while they were on the phone with each other... Dave ultimately declined. Gary also said he heard from a reliable source that Dave also turned down Letterman and the band turned down the cover of Rolling Stone.

I have nothing to base this on and I may be way off, but part of me thinks that some of Dave's radio/TV silence may be the result of a settlement after the end of his radio show. Dave's done more interviews for this tour than he did for the last one and his radio gig is the one thing that never comes up. He's spoken (in his wacky way) about his relationship with the brothers, Wolfgang, his EMT days, his dogs and more... but he never talks about the radio gig and there's no way he could go on the Stern show and avoid that topic.

I'm with my great pal Mr Walker. There's got to be a very good reason why VH would turn down shit like that--if that's at all true, which I doubt it is.

Eddie doesn't want to do press because he's missing half his tongue and probably sounds stupid. Putting Wolf in front of any media member is unwise--let alone Letterman or STERN!--and those guys probably don't want to put up with endless questions about LSD.
