Sorry if anybody has mentioned this already, but "She's The Woman" just SOOOOO reminds me of "She's My Machine". And I'm certainly not complaining about that...I think it's a cool thing. To me, it's just got that same cool slower groove to it just like "She's My Machine"...especially if you've heard "She's My Machine" live. So awesome!

My favorite song on the Album right now is Beats Working hands down, to me its the sounds more like VH than any other on the album, I like You and your blues and Blood and Fire but to me Beats Working is the best overall band performance on the album. Its the last song and should have been the first!!!!

Beat's Workin' is hardly the best song, but I kinda ahre that it could have been first...

Dave just shouldn't try to sing so high...it sounds bad...

If he sang the verses to Feel Your Love Tonite (try it at home. Frightening.) that high, it would have killed the song.

I noticed his voice straining as far back as ALAE and maybe even further (disguised by lush overproduction on Skyscraper.)

Big whoop though. Great songs, great lyrics. Hasn't put me off.

By the way, it's 7:30pm, 28th of Feb here... America I assume to be 8 hours behind. Has the new single been released yet?? I wanna see the video man!!!!

She's The Woman is a good choice for the next single. It's a real Classic Van Halen song and will further convince people the band is back to its early approach, while Tattoo, a good solid radio track, perhaps still left some hard rock fans wondering if the band could recapture the magic. I hope they release a high production video for this one, complete with actors, but I don't think they will.

STW is a AWESOME choice. It should've been the FIRST single after riding high from Cafe Wha instead of that snoozer TATTOO. At least the song has a decent riff and rocks.

You and Your Blues is not all that. Its a mid-tempo song like tattoo and would be so-so follow up. its catchy enough , but no means the best choice.

Blood and Fire or Big River would've been awesome. if you have to release a slower song, those are better riffs and more memorable.

IMO, the Strength of ADKOT is not the single potentials---its the strength of the whole album. How the songs are different vibes but all, in different degrees, rock.

Who do you want to appeal to ?
                      if Everyone ?
"You and your blues" is the catchiest on the album.
                      Followed by Blood and Fire.

If a hard rock crowd, man, theres muliplr choices here....

You and your blues would have been my first choice.

                        Outa space just as good.

Once you get the lyrics down on outa space, it's fun as hell to sing.

I disagree, dave sounded great on both of those albums and status quo for the live shows. The youtube clip of dave singing On Fire during the skyscraper tour sounded very similar to the "On Fire in Fresno" 1979 version. His live performances are hit or miss. He's always been more into the show than getting the vocals perfect.

I noticed a dramatic difference when "Your Filthy Little Mouth" was released. Aside from the fact that I absolutely love that album, his voice had noticeably changed. Over the years Dave has learned to sing the classic vh songs without taxing his voice too much. I'm noticing that he has not done the same for the new songs as he seems to struggle on them much more.

The reality is that his voice is mostly shot, but he's doing an amazing job with what he's got. I feel like his attempts to over sing some songs (like beats workin') is a psychological thing. He never sang that high from 78-84, so why now? But then I hear him on songs like China Town and As Is and he sounds great, right in his comfort zone. I wish he would just stay there and not try to push himself to do something he can't anymore.

I don't know how anyone would think Big River is a slow song.

I don't think BR gets enough play. I think it if wasn't buried on the track list, it'd be one of the most heralded on the album. It's catchy, crunchy and has one of Ed's best solos EVER. A completely ass-kicking song!
