This 2 CD set will be a huge seller.
Not because of the 3 new songs but because this CD will appeal to the casual fan.
This 2 CD set is a definite catalogue killer as it has most if not all of the songs a casual fan knows and loves.
Again this will make tons of money in the long run for Dave and Sammy.

I disagree General. Look at what sells today. No way is a Van Halen Rehash of BOV1 going to sell.

1. Most People already have all the tracks
2. Who gives a shit about new Sammy songs (yes their are a few brain damaged people such as Kid Vegas and LSD who might, but its not their fault that Mam and Dad also happen to be brother and Sister.

Also if Sammy is so confident that Best of will sell, then why is he releasing his own Best of compliation, which will be in direct competition with Van Halen (if Ed wasn't already pissed before he found this out, I bet he was after)

I checked out the set today (Saturday) and although Dave is mentioned in the liner notes, there are absolutely no pictures of him in there!
A couple of Sammy tho'!

The liner notes describe Dave leaving as "Roth exits." that's it!
Then it shows the covers to all the Dave & Sammy era albums excluding "BEST OF VOL 1".
Amazing that with Dave they produced 6 classic albums in a relative short period of time and then made less albums over a longer time period with Sam (to say nothing of the differences in quality)!

The cover artwork is actually raised on the paper so you can feel the stripes and paint splatters. This is actually the coolest thing about this release!
