I have seen 2 bass solos that I really liked. Cliff Burton on the Master Of Puppets tour opening for Ozzy, and Billy Sheehan & Steve Vai dueling on the EEAS tour.“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. Busy day at work. Haven't looked in a while. I'm gonna go home, crack open a cold one (or 5) and check out some bass solos!Comment

Yeah, but, um, why such a fucking lovefest for Ed? Whoa is Ed! All these hangers-on of his great talent (he let waste as he malingered for years). Then fuck him too! He played with both guys in 2004 and fucked up his band far more than Mike or even Sam could have. You guys want to sit here and bash hotsauce boy---fine. But at least be consistent. Just because Ed and Alex are playing with Dave again doesn't mean you have to suck their dicks with an unhealthy dose of amnesia...Comment

Sauce Hagar is not a "good guy". Take a look at the 3 "reunion" attempts with Dave... two failed and one stuck. Now look at the common theme... 2 failed attempts when sauce was in the band... successful attempt when sauce was out of the band.
Are people that blind to the fact that fatso was one of the major obstacles to a reunion with Dave?
Unbelievable!Comment

From what I've read, MA was the one pushing hardest to get Dave back in the band pre-Wolfie, hello! Was it not (as reported) he who went backstage at a show on the Sam & Dave tour and yelled at Dave to bury the hatchet with Ed?Originally posted by conmee
If anyone even thinks about deleting the Muff Thread they are banned.... no questions asked.

Would have been nice if he went out to jam with Dave for at least ONE song. What? An entire tour and not once. Too busy being attached to Gaygar with super glue.Comment

I dunno about bass solos, per se - as in band exits stage and the player takes a solo, but I do enjoy a good prominent bass line. A couple of favourites here.
1. Thuggish bass playing from JJ Burnel of The Stranglers, from 79, on a Doors-ish cover of Dionne Warwick's 'Walk on By'. I always thought he kinda played 'lead bass', like Entwhistle and Lemmy
2. The awesome Derek Forbes of Simple Minds, when they were cool ... 'Theme for Great Cities', 1981
